Chris Wilder is set to be sacked by Sheffield United today, according to The Times. I know he's having a **** season, but it still seems a bit shabby, he's been brilliant for them .
Agreed, they've had lots of injuries and for me losing Henderson was the nail in the coffin. He probably would have taken them back up so a strange decision and leaving it til the 11th hour to do it adds to the strangeness. But, it is the piggies so all is good.
Monumental **** up of a decision.... no one is going to rescue them... he's got them out of the Championship before.... Just like their massive neighbours punching way above their weight...
Going by some of his most recent comments, I think he wanted out but didn’t want to walk so he gets a payoff and hold the moral ground, which to be fair he deserves. He has been brilliant for them. They will now implode and plummet to the northern premier league!
Like him or loath him, it a bit rough sacking him now, he's done good job there over the last few season's, owner's probably preparing for life in the championship.
Cracking manager .. they need their heads banging tbh .. I'd have him here in a heartbeat with what he has achieved with them. Second season syndrome strikes again though.
It seems strange timing if it happens, they are unlikely to stay up even with a new manager in charge. If they were going to do it, probably it should have been before the January transfer window, so the new person could make the necessary changes and have time to turn things around. He's done a good job for them, and I would have thought they may well have stuck with him.
Madness he would have probably got them back just like Sir Steve Bruce did for us i wish him all the best
Good potentially great news. He has had them performing 110% for 2 or 3 years now, a Championship bunch of players who he motivated and organised to run through brick walls, he also galvanised the fanbase and moulded the whole lot into a tight close knit group who all bought into it. He was probably known as Boss Pig to the people there. However the signings made and the cost of them were of no benefit to the club. The wealthy owner believes the cub can do better than Porky Wilder but it's hard to see how, given the fact he appears to know nowt about football but plenty about accumulating wealth.. All being well, this will fracture the unity at the club and set fans against owners, a bit like a club closer to home, and the newly appointed manager will fail to match Wilder's efforts. This in turn will lead to stagnation or straightforward deterioration for this mini massive outfit. So good times ahead all being well, and we'll be beating them again soon in the league. I expect their ****ty fanbase to mark today's events in proper blades fashion...... smashing windows of families living nearby or attacking kids or lone teenagers...
