... by starting a thread about the previous owners <doh>

I'd resolved not to talk about them, but I thought that there was something worth mentioning.

Many people were genuinely concerned, with good reason, after two years of sly practice from people who we'd put our trust in. They thought that unless there was a total takeover they'd somehow be 'pulling the strings'.

So, isn't it nice now to be barely able to recall those dark days ...

... it all seems so far away <party>

A little bird tells me that there's a plan to spend big on a new pitch, upgrading the AOL/SOL, etc, to which all shareholders are obliged to contribute ...

    ... it's a game of poker and I think I know who'd blink first.

f the Grigg transfer is any indication of the way Donald negotiates, KLD will have him down to his underwear in no time. Horrible thought, that....

There's also a suggestion that the East Side of the ground should have access to the fan zone at half time.

That would involve a temporary enclosure being erected after the start of the match and taken down before the end.

As that side have the biggest contingent of 'drinkers' I think that's a great idea.

What sort of stuff are they thinking of for the Fanzone? Things like the hadrian's teepee/covered area or just the same type of set up?

The SoL definitely could do with a makeover mind, don’t get me wrong it’s still a magnificent stadium but it’s nearly a quarter of a century old and there are visible signs of neglect.

Not sure tbh, I think they're just open to suggestions.

It would be great if it encompassed the length of the East Stand though ...

... imagine having a pint and a pie in a 'concourse' without people dodging in and out of the bogs.

Would be brilliant that but I doubt it would be allowed unless it was literally fully enclosed.

Its doable like, just a massive undertaking, as to fully enclose it would of course be blocking exits if something went horribly wrong.

    Love the idea.

Why not have it the same as when concerts are on. Turnstiles and exit gates could be on the outside.

The exec boxes, catering and bars are 'shabby and service station standard' apparently. They're the main concern and it's felt that sponsors, visitors, investors, etc should be 'knocked out' when they visit. The AOL is another priority and the facilities for the media will be revamped.

I'm hoping that the KLD/RAWA meeting spells it all out as most of what I know is confidential. Tbh you could guess most of it as it's what you'd expect, but I can't repeat it.

That’s always been my thought -I.e. why should KLD invest his own money, and let other shareholders make money without spending a penny.

Surely they have to shell out their %share on any expenditure OR reduce their shareholding.

I reckon DICK Dastardly & Mutley will be collectively shi**ing their pants.

Interesting times, because no doubt KLD intends to continue investing in the club.

  18. I'm surprised by this discussion tbh. I can't see KLD getting himself into a situation where he's having to knock on Donald's door asking for his share of funds to invest in the club, any more than Donald getting himself into that position, given that he's no longer on the Board, and therefore not able to influence any decision making about what should be spent and where. Also, aren't Donald's funds limited.I thought we were generally under the impression that the price for Donald's remaining shares to be acquired in future had been agreed ,subject to our status on the pitch, and I can't see how any investment from KLD into the club would affect that agreement.

Even when the stadium was shiny new the concourse areas were always a bit ‘car park’

Some of the areas at away grounds are fantastic, I remember at Emirates thinking ‘swag bastards’

I don't think there's an agreed price for Donald's shares. They aren't protected, which means they could go at any time. Despite not being a board member any more, Donald is still a shareholder. If KLD proposes investment as a share issue then Donald will have to match it %-wise or his shareholding will be diluted. So basically its not KLD "having" to knock on Donald's door. It's KLD wanting to do it, safe in the knowledge that Donald probably can't afford to chip in for long, at which point his shareholding dwindles and he goes out of the door .

I haven't heard anything about the stuff smug is suggesting (not to say it isn't true at all, just I mean I don't want what I've written above to be taken as inside knowledge linked to his) but I am led to believe that KLD would quite like the old guard gone quickly. What smug has heard would be a way of doing it, and if he was to do it I wouldn't be at all surprised. Said for ages that I'd be staggered if Donald was here for long , kld doesn't want or need him
