I'm going to make a day of it with the lad.
Shirt on, scarf out, big lucky towel hanging.
    Beer in the fridge.
Hopefully we look back at all this in a few years in the premier League as the start of our great journey back.

Oh shît aye. Was thinking the following Sunday.
I'll have to try and get some red and white flowers for her grave, I know she'll be cheering us on even though she's Welsh :)
Wow it's gonna be an emotional day, coming up ten years since she passed anarl.

Come on Sunderland do us proud.

Wembley wins in the two big cups from teams outside the PL top 6 are so rare that it's possible that some of us will never see Sunderland achieve it ...

... which is why I'll be desperate for us to win on Sunday.

The players showed how much it means to them in the semi-final against Lincoln.

It's the biggest cup we had a chance of winning this season.

    Can't wait.

Might be seeing plenty of goat pics as big Chas knocks them in. I'll leave the 'lucky goats' for league games.
    Take care on Sunday m8.

Aye. How many clubs of our current stature - ie never likely to win something like the PL, CL or FA Cup - win a trophy on an average year? 3 or 4?

Why aren't people that bothered? It would be a massive achievement for many reasons.

Apologies if this is repetition, not had much time to look through the thread.
I was wondering how many SAFC fans have attended all our Wembley trips since 1973. Can only be a low number. I was at both days of Mercantile Credit trophy, we took 3k or maybe 4k. Got on really well with tranmere and wolves fans either side. Anyway with people no longer with us the number who have been at them all must be a few hundred, 1500ish. I've always been unlucky but am proud to be one of those SAFC fans. Upset I can't be there this time but Haway the Lads.

It would mean we're the best cup side in two divisions which is the best you can do.

It would also be the icing on the cake if we're promoted but not as champions.

And the players are well up for it, which is nice.

Haway Smug mate, where's your forward thinking? We'll be part of the new PL top 6 before long. <cheers> :1980_boogie_down:

i was over there in '99 and had to watch the mags lose the cup final in total silence, was in the middle of a backpackers camping site so all the songs and screams had to be done in my head...sure it was two/three in the morning.

best ever night spent in a caravan with a constant stream of roaches visiting the sink!!

When was the last time we were in a Wembley final when we were both the overwhelming favourite and also playing really well going in to it????

    It's a very odd feeling !!!

I'm going to be really charitable to those who say they don't care about Sunday and say that I think that might be because we don't know how to act in these circumstances. Are we really allowed to feel this confident ????

I'm predicting that if we win at Wembley even the biggest doubters will be retrospectively proud and excited ...

... I've chosen to be proud and excited now. I want us to win every game so why should this be any different.

I chose mine, marra, behind the goal just about where I sit in The Fulwell End, and felt comfortable with a 'normal' view :emoticon-0148-yes:

Then I thought . . . . I'll be watching it on the telly so I'll be on the half way line, like everybody else, so I'd better get to my seat on the settee sharpish before the rush :emoticon-0136-giggl
