I misread it too the first time.
Nice to be up to 12th though eh, with a game in hand on those immediately above us?

It's just as well it wasn't one of the numpty championship refs in charge.

Looking at our fixtures from now until the end of the season we should be targeting a really strong top half finish.

I'd be over the moon with 8th.

Great to see Willock last nearly 90 minutes and play so well. MOM for me.

You might be right Bob, but let's wait and see. If Fulham stay up, then it increases our chances with Johansen. We're on his doorstep, play in a way which suits his style, he'd be one of our key men. It's a good sell if we meet the wage requirement.

The foundation I'm speaking of is the fact the likes of Dieng, Dickie and Willock have a good year's experience in this division under their belts and Chair continues to gain more experience (starting to see some goals from him now). I'd expect us to sign De Wijs as the option to make permanent is already there, the same is true of Sam Field.

The concern is still up front, I'd be stunned if Austin signs, Dykes is clearly struggling (his performance at the Euros might boost his sale value) so we need investment in that area.

If 8th is feasible, then 6th is only a couple of points away. As they say, it is the "hope " that kills you.

Seriously, a top half finish would be great and to then build upon this for next season, where potentially we could develop consistency and challenge for a Top 6 placing?

    Let's hope! :)

I would be happy with 8th and that would be a big improvement on last season. I think the top 6 is all but done bar maybe 2-3 teams that could move. I just hope that next season we can improve further and maybe try and get a play-off place... who knows.

Have to agree. We are to far off a top six place and way too inconsistent still.
Let’s see if we can keep doing better than the next few teams above us and slowly move up the league for a decent end of season finish.

Good to see that most fans are keeping their feet on the ground and quite resigned to just finishing as high as possible and hoping the team build for next year.
Keep those players we need...bring in another couple in key areas and I honestly think we could do alright next season

    We're on a run.
I'm getting sick of winning all the time....................................NOT!
Wish we were playing Liverpool at the moment, not only guaranteed 3 points but a big chance to improve our for & against!

This was mentioned previously but cant be bothered finding it! In just one little week we took 1pt out of Preston, Birmingham and Barnsley. Prior to that one week, we had 18 out of 21 and post 6 out of 6, which does allow you to wonder that within all that form we should have got more than 1 out of 9pts. As an average in 2021 those 3 games should have given us 7pts as a minimum which would have put us bang in play off picture. This league is always a close call and consistency is always the key. Not sure what happened that week or we gave just been lucky. Imagine if we had a Pukki that sticks away 20+ strange that's what it pretty much takes based on the chances we create and miss. Going forward which a few have also suggested, Dieng, Barbet, Dickie, Hull geezer, Field, Fulham bloke, Chair looks like a great start. Willock I would also keep. We cant afford Austin. So 2 wing backs(I still like Kakay, so maybe 1) and a top notch striker (why do Brentford always find one and we get 5 in of which Austin is the only one who looks like could get into double figures.

Yes, he's right there. More speed is needed since BOS left, at LWB and in the back 3 though Kakay would give that if becomes good enough in that position.

I don't think he's Linfird Christie, but think he has more pace than than any of the other five I remember playing CB for us this season.

Funnily enough, Kane is very fast and is actually much better at defending than he is attacking. I'd prefer Kane in the back three with Kakay as RWB. Kakay is a good attacker who links up well with players.
