The fact that it's only 3 games in 8 days has forced Ralph's hand, I reckon it would've unchanged if it was being played at the weekend.
The way it's been written out on Saints Twitter I'd say 4-4-2 with Bednarek RB and Stephens CM. However I hope it's 5-4-1 with Stephens RWB.
Experimental line up, free hit practise match, see how it goes. My pre-match done, Palm beer chilled, wine cracked, ribs in the oven COYR!
I'd like to see him tried there, he is calm on the ball and has a good range of passing but I think he will start at RWB because it is Citeh we are playing. There is an option to switch formations according to the match situation.
Stamped my feet so hard in my celebration that I damaged a ligament that took six months to recover. Well worth it. Vin
I think the inclusion of McCarthy is just in case things go tits up. We wouldn’t want a third keeper to concede 9 goals in a game, although that would be an interesting stat.
I wonder how bold Ralph will be with his subs IF we are still in the game with 20-30 mins to go. Given he's on the bench I would think he would bring on KWP if he thinks we can get a result. It's probably irrelevant anyway.
Think the most fun we will have tonight will be trying to work out who is playing where! That said, I think this is the right call. Rest key players in the hope of 3 points against Brighton. Park the bus tonight and hope we can hold out for as long as possible whilst using Redmond, Djenepo & Adams to counter.
