Funny how people see the game differently. I thought Docherty had a very quiet game tonight and I thought Elder had done a Marcus Maddison and turned up 10 minutes after ko!
Jones Whyte - for improvement Honeymonster Thought Dembele was the best player by far until his role was sacrificed after the sending off. Just as well.
Honeymonster - Best player in the League. Always creative and around the ball. Burke - Defensive Rock and great headed goal. Ingram - Two brilliant saves prevented a 3-3 tie. Hall of Shame - Eaves - some of his misplays were farcical. Send him back to Gillingham.
For me I couldn't call any individual performances which stood above the others .. they each did a good job of what they are in the team for. Yes there were a couple of Individual errors for their goal but that apart the team recovered well fro. A difficult start to produce a terrific team performance and very professional again so my MOTM goes to the TEAM
Good shout. Being brutally honest, the red card made all the difference (although of course we'll never know what the result would have been without it); teams need that bit of rub of the green from time to time, and we got ours last night. Having said that, there could have been a 2nd sending off - think it was Kent (?) pulling / holding back KLP as we were breaking, ref chose to ignore it as he knew if he pulled him up he'd have to give him a 2nd card. But another solid team performance. Couple of good, important saves from Ingram too. Hard to pick from Honeyman, Burke, Jones, Doc, Coyle, Wilks (at times), Ingram, Elder. Maybe about time Burke got a bit more recognition so ... Burke Jones Honeyman
His mercurial skills are being stored up for the run in, his prolific goal account is the stuff of legends since joining us.
Elder Honeyman Jones Those knocking Eaves must have been watching a different game. He came on and pressed/harried out on the left. No complaints from me, he was tasked with a job and did it. On any other day, he would have just stayed up front in the middle.
Eaves covered a lot of ground and took the pressure off Elder, even covered for him in defence and then overlapped with him down the wing. I don’t often praise Eaves, but last night he was there to do a job and that wasn’t as a fully fledged striker.
