A mate of mine was talking about reserve games around 2000 against Liverpool and Man United where there was a record crowd

    What exactly was the attendance?

Was a sell out for a Wear/Tyne derby and around 24k for those 2.

I used to work in Wheatsheaf on match days them days and was buzzing for the extra cash as a young un!

    Was pre-extension.

Not trying to have a go here but every single post you put on is about attendances and potential attendances, catchment areas. What is your obsession, are you a mag, are you not actually interested in football or do you **** over big numbers?
You never ever comment on any other subject other than attendances.
Well he's a figure for you 30000+ the lads I know will be there like they have for the last 3 years where possible at home games. The sell out allocation for away games, if we get to the Premier I wouldn't care if it was only those 30000+ that turn up as they are the lads and lasses that I want by my side.
That's not having a go at the ones who can't go because of health, finance, or living distance, this is for the ones that would be first in line for a season ticket for the Premier when they haven't been to a game for 5 years.
My first season was the year that we got relegated to the 3rd division. It didn't stop me, it just made my love for the club stronger
