Smug, I've passed waiting for any of the TV commentators giving us any credit whatsoever, it's always the other team having an off day, just sick of it.
Think it was David Coleman in the 73 cup final who last said anything positive about us.

Absolutely. Moved up another level tonight. You can see the players are starting to get it Our passing and movement was excellent but our shape and work rate when we didn’t have the ball was outstanding. Portsmouth just didn’t know what to do Pass it backwards or lump it aimlessly forward

Phillips on Jones goal.... Blames keeper. No credit to Jones. As for Flannigan... He kicked the ball first man.. Not a nailed on pen at all

Wtf are sky going on about now. Look at where the ball ends up. It pings off to the side of the pitch. It’s incredibly clear that Flanagan gets plenty of contact on the ball.

O’nien was class, could’ve given him man of the match at half time. Plays anywhere effortlessly, has to be one of the best players in the league.

Am I the only one who thinks the ref made the right choice by not awarding a penalty?
For me Flanagan gets the ball first...

I thought that was a penalty in real time but I really can't see how it is now and each replay just tells me it wasn't. Cant understand were the presenters are coming from. Be interested to hear what the Pompey supporters think?

Either way no one can argue that we didn't deserve it and I really don't think we got beyond 3rd gear

I'm not as 'expirienced' as some on here, but when SAFC get momentum going we are hard to stop. Personally I'm buzzing after that performance and it's onwards and upwards for me. If fans were back at the SoL we would win every home game we have left. Easy.

Just want to sum up my thoughts on tonight as been too nervous to come in here:

    • everyone absolutely brilliant
    • Proudest I’ve been to be a Sunderland fan in a long time. Effort and application tremendous.
    • Luke O’Nien was just immense. First time I’ve seen him at CB and completely blown away.
    • Jordan Jones permanent signing is an even bigger no brainer than M’Vila was
    • Kevin Phillips still has never had a correct opinion

I agree with KP me. I think it was a pen like. Should have said Jones finished well.

Yeah, I couldn't understand that! If as Phillips says he got enough of the ball and its the follow through that brought the player down, how can it be a stone wall penalty??? :emoticon-0138-think

I know we all fancied us beforehand, but this was a potential bastard of a fixture and we’ve ****ing floated through it.

Absolutely buzzing. Can’t wait for Sunday.

If I hadn’t just spent a grand on this telly at Xmas I’d have flung the remote through it watching the commentary and pundits on sky. Arseholes the lot of them , it’s like we’re not allowed to be good because we’re Sunderland so it has to be the other team’s failings that got us the win.

can’t wait to get out of this **** league.
