Recently had to have a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check for work. You will all be glad to know it came back with the all clear. Have you had to have one for work or volunteering? I had one a while ago for working with the Scouts and Guides, can you imagine that? Me, working with kiddies? What were they thinking? please log in to view this image
Despite having daily exposure (no, not that kind of exposure) to students my last job didn't require a DBS check for some reason. I'd have thought a criminal record check would be carried out for most jobs but they take time and cost a few quid so may not be pertinent for everyone. Bet some of you on here have a few skeletons in the closet. I'd lay a small wager that there is a fair share of DUI's, possession, assault (fitba/casuals) drunk and disorderly, spousal abuse etc.
A clean DBS just means you haven't been caught yet. Ian Huntley passed it despite being known to have lived as husband and wife with underage girls.
They lost DNA and other records for a hundred thousand folk just recently, flew under the radar with the virus. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-55734593
