With Donny away to Crewe, Lincoln away at Ipswich and the top 2 playing each other, a win would be priceless. This is much more important than Sunday.

It's nice to actually look forward to / worry about an important game. For the last year and a half I've not known who we were playing until kick off!

I'm pleased to say Portsmouth represent three points to me and nothing else.

It's no more important than the Rochdale match for me and I'd expect us to go for the win ...

... you could see we slipped back a gear when we went 2-0 ahead.

I'd have loved us to keep attacking butv it's a long season.

Nads, I've just tried to book the £18 Premier League and Sky Football dual rolling contract and cant find it on my account, I can just find one or the other. Is the duel offer for new customers only?

Its what we call a global mate, so anyone can have, if you choose one sports channel it should flash up the offer for both.

Would be happy with a draw given the amount of points we've picked up recently. A win would be brilliant, and I know we will do it if we apply ourselves properly.

Biggest worry for me is their physicality and style of play which is similar to Gillingham, who caused us problems. We need to stop giving away silly free kicks and other set-pieces. As Smug mentioned earlier, Northampton restricted them to just one corner and they created next to nowt. We should try to do likewise.

They are in **** form but I don’t think they are a **** team.

The smart move is to go at them all guns blazing and get a lead and play on their delicate confidence. I’m sure Johnson will think the same.

Huge game for both teams, I think we will find out just where Sunderland are as team after this game. Pompey will be like a wounded lion after Northampton and need some momentum to go into a final, We are on a decent run and need to into the weekend on the back of a result and performance....Interesting game

Ive gone for a draw simply because there has to be a reaction from Pompey after Saturdays loss.
A win for us and a draw in the Peterborough v Hull game would be the dream scenario though. Fingers, Toes & Testicles crossed !

I’m not sure if I’d rather Peterborough win.

Id love to go up as champs but second would do me, I think a loss for Hull would make us massively odds on for top 2, box that off first then think about top, we still have to go to Peterborough.

No point sitting back against this lot. They'll just keep lumping the ball into our box at every given opportunity.

Agreed players cannot be intimidated like with Gillingham, Power needs to be a captain and set an example, Sanderson and 09 will not back down.Yep no silly free kicks so they can lob it into our own area.

Good to see that Benji Kimpioka is back.

Kimpioka completed 45 minutes alongside senior goalkeeper Remi Matthews as he steps up his recovery from a serious hamstring injury picked up late last year.
Josh Hawkes continued his superb form for the Black Cats by opening the scoring nine minutes into the contest, cutting inside from the left to beat Newcastle goalkeeper Dan Langley.
Hawkes has been a key player for Elliot Dickman's side since joining from Hartlepool United last summer and was rewarded with a place on the bench in the 2-0 win against Rochdale on Saturday.

I have gone for a home win. We have been pretty average for three games running now. We need to be a lot better to get 3 points off these. I expect them to be right up for this. Its almost a season defining game for them they way their form has been. Add to that i cannot recall the last time we won there.

Hopefully i am wrong i usually am. Massive game

Hope we don’t bottle it down there as per the last two seasons. The one last year was the worst performance I’ve seen from us since we’ve been in this league.

That would do, but not sure my heart could take it. I’ll settle for a boring 0-4 win to the lads.
