It’s the Mirror reporting that Ings is holding off on signing a new contract as he wants to see if Liverpool want him back.
Personally I don’t see Liverpool wanting him now.

Not much we don't already know.

Personally, I don't think they will go for Ings. More than likely he is their back up if Halaand goes elsewhere and they want Dortmund to know they have other options too.

If Ings does go to City, I will be ok with that.
Its pretty obvious that Saints cant match his ambitions. I cant imagine MC would try and nickel and dime us like Spurs. So how much do we want for DI? I say £35M or a lesser price with a couple of fringe players thrown in. I am intreagued about Liam Delap. I remember when we signed a young striker from Blackburn Rovers, James Beattie! :)

Wasn’t James a makeweight part of the Kevin Davies transfer?

No need, they will just take Aguero off and put Ings on.

I think Danny Ings is getting peed on from a great height. Whether he signs or not. He was on fine form before the injury at Villa. Rushed back when clearly not 100% fit, it came as no surprise when a) he was not up to full speed, and b) when he broke down again. He could be the main man at Wembley..

I really don't think Ings has been off form due to thinking about his future. He's been injured 3 times, had covid and a knackering schedule. Plus the team's bad run would have had an effect for sure. We all noticed Armstrong struggling after coming back from covid so that shouldn't be underestimated. I'm hoping Ings will come back after the international break being the player he was before his injury at Villa. He will want to go to the Euro's so he should be fully motivated to finish the season strongly. The prospect of a potential FA Cup winners medal could also help.

So when he scores a hatrick in the final against City and wins the FACup he gets everything a saints player could ever ask for. Silverware and a big money offer from a proper club.

I think every Saints fan would wish him well if he won us the Cup and provided us with a decent summer transfer budget. The only thing against this scenario is that he’s already had a move to a big club, and he was 6 years younger then.

Maybe we are on to something here. The reason for our crap form is that everyone loves Danny sooo much that the whole team were worried about his future and off form.

Potentially yes, but I think one of the top clubs is interested in him and has likely told his agent the interest may materialise in the summer.

Rarely do players just wait and see. Danny will likely know which club is looking at him even if nothing is concrete.
