That’s not a bad idea, especially at a time when we have struggled to bring our own academy players up to the standard required. I recently read that the number of academy players a team can have was increased, which has led to the bigger clubs dredging the country for the best prospects, before jettisoning those that aren’t making their grades. There might be some decent late developers in the discarded pile.
Worth noting Tella was far from a cast off. Arsenal wanted to keep him but he wasn't happy with opportunities in and around the 1st team so moved on. Shows that there is an opportunity both for the "cast offs" that are deemed not good enough for elite clubs as well as the players that are frustrated with their playing time/future opportunities.
Not too fussed about a loss here. Keep it below 5 and no injuries and i'd be fairly ok with that. I'd be more worried about Fulham if we weren't playing Brighton, West Brom, Burnley and Palace in our next 4 league games
My team for Wednesday Forster KWP-Bedders-Vester-Salisu-Bertie Djenepo-JWP-Diallo-Redders N'Lundulu Our strongest defensive lineup and keeping our strike force fit and sat on the bench
Not a bad call. Playing KWP and Diallo after their respective injuries is risky. Likewise you have to protect Armstrong and Tella. But no reason why we can't play Adams. I would not be keen - but I can see Ralph going with Bedders at RB with Djenepo supporting.
Yes. Unless we happen to get seriously spanked (I'm talking 9-0 level) then surely it's better to not bother and rest our key players for bigger, winnable tests to come (Brighton and Bournemouth to name but two).
What lost cause? If the players go out thinking any game is a lost cause, they probably shouldn’t be professional sportsmen.
