Oh definitely not just the Tories.....they are all at it, the major parties at least. Labour are no better...they are all claiming vast amounts of expenses....looking after their mates and fiddling the books. Meanwhile it’s the needy that suffer. That’s why I joined the WPB. They look like they are gonna at least try to be different.
The media, is the reason we blame the little fishes.....dole cheats, sponging off the welfare state, the immigrants coming over in their little boats, probably to bomb us. The media are making a common enemy, that we can all identify...from their different colour skin, their hijab, their yarmulke, their foreign sounding surname. This is what happened in 1930s Germany. We do need to stand up to the media and to politicians of all creeds who promote this behaviour
On the other side however, we still have to confront the fact, that uncontrolled mass immigration can and does have a negative effect on the population. And we need to be able to discuss this without cries of racism and fascism that sometimes gets bandied around.
I think that circles back to Staines point, the media will/could stain the NHS over a potential strike, sparking a backlash on what, at present are our modern day heroes. The simple people of the world believe the headlines unfortunately. All propaganda whipped up to serve a cause.
It’s been happening for a while mate......and however well intentioned and however much a “light relief” to get them through the crap....the constant barrage of “tic tok” dances didn’t help and gave the press something to latch onto when they wanted to say “how dare they demand a wage rise when they have time to dance like that” Definitely noticed a change in public opinion recently and the claps and “hero” adulation has definitely given way to a “where the f*** have you been” attitude. Luckily for me I’m more at ease with the latter than the former.
It's totally across the board and at every level of the political spectrum. You only have to look at the bankrupt Borough I live in to see how politicians at local level can run their own little 'fiefdoms' and be virtually unaccountable until something like a pandemic suddenly collapses their 'house of cards'. I have a totally cynical view of today's politicians, more concerned with putting out inane soundbites for social media and playing the 24/7 news channels than doing something that will really make a difference for the average person... *edit* I've just seen this which sums it up perfectly, councillors and MPs not worth a toss...
Why? Don't think it's ever been really challenged that Charles may not / probably isn't his father but what is the purpose of speculating about it now? Wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that H and his Mrs are now seen as enemies of the state by the Press in this country.
Apparently Buckingham Palace is looking into claims that Meghan bullied Prince Andrew into having sex with underage girls.
I've no idea whether there's been a test, or whether, if there has, the result has been covered up. It would be nice to know. We could all enjoy the Harry Hewitt and Markle whingeing session with Oprah and quickly consign it to history.
The ****ing media and the narratives they put out are the reason some, like Staines said, are turning on the NHS. Seeing it more and more often on social media, people picking any small thing to have a dig. If there’s an image or video of them not working themselves to death it’s jumped upon, if a couple of nurses wanna raise their spirits by doing a little video, fair play if I was in an intense 14 hour shift, I might try and enjoy any short break I had. I do worry if this is part of a plan to cause a backlash against the NHS workers, to paint them out as demons we can no longer afford to keep going. Although with Trump out of the way at least there isn’t the incentive to sneak some of it in, in a trade deal.
I don’t really care much about Markle... she is no Kate. From what I have read and heard from friends, she comes across as a bit of a social climber. I would say to her, if you want a private life don’t do Oprah or announcing your baby on Twitter. It’s all about promoting team Markle.
