As bad as Palarse v Manure and Liverpool/Chavski last night. A bad week of football. Positive points, Phillips in goal and we have some good, young full backs.
A poor performance, signing the contract too early, or just tired? Murphy knackered, but hasn’t played much....never had much stamina! Sang’s the man! Murphy For Sale, get rid!
Don’t understand the tactics - again followed up a 4-0 home win with a negative away performance. City made no real attempt to get on top of the game and stole a point. Murphy Vaulks and Ralls were terrible. Ojo was anonymous and don’t get why Bacuna wasn’t brought on. Another waste of Wilson’s talents. Only plus was another top display by Phillips and decent debuts for Sang and Brown. Disappointing night
Dreadful going forward, only Moore looking anywhere near effective. Defensively OK, despite the disruption to full backs. If we can't win a game then the old mantra of trying not to lose has to come into play and we somehow managed that. On balance a good point. Keeps the unbeaten run going and on another plus point, at least we didn’t get our arses handed to us on a plate like the Jacks did up there the other week!
Now we will see if MM has more than 1 way of playing. We misses the wing-backs tonight big time. Only shows how much we miss Bennett.
Looking back at it again our passing and control of the ball was well below par. I thought lumping it forward aimlessly from the back was a thing of the past. Last 2 home and away performances have been like chalk and cheese.
Dreadful game of football. Sat far too deep and invited trouble. I get the mantra of not needing possession to win a game, but we allowed Huddersfield the ball without pressing them and were lucky they were useless using it in the final third. When we did get the ball we couldn't pass it to one another and Wilson was a shadow of the expectation we had. Our midfield was appalling - Ralls and Vaulks resorted to midfield mugging and displayed no class nor creativity. If the "class" we do have (Wilson/Murphy) isn't working, then change it. Bacuna (theirs) should have been sent off and Bacuna (ours) should have been sent on. One poor game doesn't make it all over by a long shot, but when you look at the table, that game last night could keep both clubs in the Championship for next season - bad for us but good for them.
