So in reality. This is big news because it proves the arb is real. That it’s to facilitate a takeover. And does that mean by very definition PIF are still at the table. Because if not surely it’s just a waste of time. So for that reason. “I’m IN”
PIF are very much in. The arbitration is to force the takeover through. De Marco went in great detail as to how PIF operate. I ****ing knew it.
You (and others) called it bang on, fair play. Tallies with HDQ's comments as well. Shame we're in a state of even-deader-than-ever under Ashley right now, but honestly how can they not allow this? All the piracy **** - as it also appears is an issue - has been resolved?
Piracy hasn't been resolved as far as I've heard - BeIN still not being shown and court cases proceeding.
I think that if BEin is showing before arbitration starts then I think there will be a settlement done. If it starts showing during arbitration then the outcome will be positive
@Sheikh_of_Araby This chairman isn't he a QC at the same company as NDM? Do you think that will have any impact?
@Sheikh_of_Araby This chairman isn't he a QC at the same company as NDM? Do you think that will have any impact? He's also a human rights lawyer - is this the main issue?
It can be anything from a few weeks to several months. I'd say the latter as it is fairly complex. Summer would be my guess.
I can't see it making much difference. Human rights doesn't form part of the ODT. If that is used as a justification then the decision can be appealed.
Here’s a thought. I don’t think for a minute that NUFC have an all or nothing approach to this arbitration. With the possibility of a settlement in advance of judgement already there I wouldn’t be surprised if PIF weren’t prepared to be flexible in some way as part of any negotiation. Examples could be: 1-buying less stake in NUFC and Ashley retaining a minority holding or Reubens more 2- someone outside of PIF but trusted by PIF to take on the director role ;not sure this is legal)? 3- An ‘independent’ Saudi company buying into NUFC alongside PIF- precedent set at Sheff Utd. I know Ashley is a gambler but he’s also a negotiator who is quite nimble when he wants something badly. I don’t think for a minute he or PIF wouldn’t be prepared to give some ground somewhere along the way. I think the PL would.
It is possible. But she an expert on Saudi law. Make no mistake, she did the brief for De Marco in respect of PIF.
@Sheikh_of_Araby was spot on this entire time. Shots have been fired and my interest has piqued again!
