Can’t see him wanting to come back here unfortunately. Would be class though, but think he’ll want to be back down south. Bournemouth definitely a more likely option.

It certaily would be a fairytail story if he did return.

....a nod to the memory of Bradley Lowery, and his Foundation.

Would take him if we got into the Championship, hell, especially if we didn’t get promoted this year.

He keeps himself in good shape, is an experienced pro, and the fans love him so why not.

My only worry would be the expectation from the crowd, I’d hate for him to come back, not live up to what people expect and tarnish his reputation

Doubt it would happen but would love to see him back. Regardless of division he'd be a class act. Seemingly not getting much of a look in at rangers, you'd think he'd want to be playing before he retires. If we went up and could give him a couple years as a bit of a project for him at a club he cares about it could be good for all.

I actually think he would love to return as he knows how much we love him! Would be a fantastic way for him to also get into coaching and think how much he could teach the young strikers! Be great

If he got his head down and learned from Charlie he might be half decent.

Yeah I think it'd be one of times when there are more factors at play than just money. I'd say at 38 if you can make good money and a bit of a sentimental move to finish your career with then why not, it's not like we'd offer him peanuts.

Would normally be against someone of his age coming in but as others have said he does look after himself fitness wise and crucially he is not usually injury prone.

I think as much as anything, and I add I think he’d still score for fun at this level, but more than that the influence he’d have on the lads could be massive.

Lad is a diamond. He’s a player. He’s done the lot. He knows the club, he knows the game. The younger lads would buzz off him and look up to him.

    Be a potential master stroke.

He will definitely be looking at the future ( he's already set for life I would think) but he loves the game so much. Offer him something that gives him a future and I'd think he would jump at the chance to be honest. He speaks well of his time at safc and we would love it to. He's not got much time left playing at a high to medium level so it's our only chance to pounce for him! Do it KLD do it

I'd have him back and if he got injured would be a good striking coach.

He is the ultimate poacher and I think he would still do a job in the Championship.

Obviously not all on his own but would be cracking super sub as I'd imagine they would try boot him all over the pitch.

Charlie not fit to lace his boots.

They could make a good little and large pair up front though.

McGeady pinging them in Wyke shoots with the header if saved or off bar Defoe with the tap in.

Just a hunch but I reckon he'll retire at the end of the season.
