One reason I'm pleased we are well away from the Prem. Its putting a right dampener on the spontaneity of football.
I don't even know what the rules are anymore, I thought they changed it so if it hits your arm in a natural position as in by your side it's not handball?
It's horrific. Absolutely killing the game imo. They all expected it to be like hawkeye in tennis or the cricket review system but it's ****ing muppets in charge of it for football.
Getting some work done in the garden and the lads are a couple of mags in their 40s/50s. Nice lads (one is my mate's Dad) but when we get on the subject of football, the nonsense they come out with man 1. Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool and Tottenham got together to put pressure on the PL to refuse approval for the Saudi takeover (I was tempted to point out the PL never got as far as making a decision, but whatever....just let them go) 2. John Hall had to sell NUFC to Mike Ashley because his son had wasted "all the family money" on failed property developments in Spain 3. The lad who went to jail was "well known in Castle Eden for being a peado" 4. Brother of said individual (who happens to be a mate of one of my contractors) "knew he was up to this all the time" (pretty sure he doesn't have a brother) 5. Both of them HATE all footballers, including Shearer 6. Never going back to watch their team until Ashley sells (I know more than a few "massive mags" who don't go to games for that reason) 7. They know loads of NUFC lads who buried their shirts under the stands at The SOL Like I say, nice lads, but they don't half talk ****e
I wonder what the results would be if they did a massive poll of football clubs including players and fans, to see how many are in favour of VAR and how many are against it. I think it'd be pretty heavily against. Apart from anything else it gets on my tits how one game has it and another doesn't in the same competition. It's not equal and when will it be? Never?
I'd vote against it. As a fan it's excruciating stuff waiting for someone miles away to draw some amateurish lines on a pitch that make no sense. Go back to the refs decision is final. End of imo.
Agreed I'd vote against it too. Can't imagine players like it much either. It adds a bit of drama but it kills a part of the game and it's not worth it.
' When football is mentioned it's amazing how they switch, so quickly, from being decent ordinary people to arrogant fantasists ... ... they start to speak much louder, exaggerate their accents and look like someone doing a poor impersonation of a geet big Geordie and massive Toon fan. Just why they're so arrogant, following such a failure of a club, is a mystery.
D De Bruyne said he doesn't know the rules anymore. Another review of the laws at end of the season apparently
If you went back over some classic games, and applied VAR, half the results would change ... ... it's a typical case of making things worse by improving them.
Because majority of them grew up during the blip they we're a good team to watch when the PL first started. Now like a blowfish feel need to show themselves and be noticed so shout loud and make sure everyone around them knows they are a Geordie in case football is brought up. I love correcting people when ask if I support Newcastle
