A good win that imo without playing like we know we can. We won't win them all as Saturday proved but on Saturday we came back for the draw and tonight we got the win. If we can win say 3 and draw 1 out of every 4 we will be fine
We've seen first hand how things can change so quickly if a side puts a good run together. Our season has been revitalised in the last month. We need to be wary of other sides doing the same, and need to keep this run going in order to crank up the pressure on the rest.
Spot on. Win our games and let others worry about us rather than us worrying about them. As @Smug in Boots says no stand out teams in this league not forgetting that, at half time on Saturday, there were people saying we wouldn’t make the play offs!!!
Hear what you’re saying but they’re playing in last season’s final the day before our final which helps! It’s worked out well for both clubs really.
We can't do anything about other results, we just have to concentrate on our own which we seem to be doing. Given the injuries and the amount of games we are doing well. We seen to have strength in depth and I think that's where we will benefit compared to others
A fruitful evening with the way things went. I'm convinced if we keep on pushing we'll put enough pressure on the others that they'll crumble. The rivals at the top will be looking at us now, and knowing were capable, that's for sure.
We'll soon find out what we're made of, but we are digging out results for the first time in a long while, without consistently clicking. Get our defenders back in over the next week, atart clicking a bit more and keep pushing on. Pompey, Wembley & Lincoln in quick succesion with Rochdale and Stanley thrown in for good measure. Oxford & Posh over the Easter weekend Wigan, Blackpool then Hull away on the trot later in April, with the pub gardens open thank god.
Lincoln, Portsmouth and Doncaster have all been billed as 'unstoppable' at one time or another ... ... they've all won just one of their last five games. Same goes for Accrington, Charlton and Oxford. As long as we keep churning out results, by whatever means possible, we have a chance of automatic promotion.
We certainly dominated possession last night. However both Danny Collins and LJ were saying that we were slow in getting the ball forward... well yes we could all see that.. Presumably when those at the back (bearing in mind Power and 09 are not bad passers of the ball) had nobody showing to pass forward to. Also Winchester is no Leads...A certain young midfielder from our academy might have done better?
Only us and Posh are bang in-form in the top6. If we keep it that way, we're good to go up. Since the turn of the year..... Lads : won 11, drawn 5, lost 1 Posh: won 10, drawn 3, lost 2 very encouraging considering we've only really clicked in a few games and the disappointing draws. Anyway, back to the real job
Need to back it up with another win on Sat then go into Tuesday's game down Portsmouth with confidence Getting a few defenders back would be nice like because our luck will run out soon
You are right, we do have significant strength in depth in the squad. However, to be fair to the team, the advantage of our strength in depth is being significantly reduced by the ridiculous number of injuries we have. As a result, we are unable to give some players a break, which we probably would have done.
Looks like LJ has finally got Chris McGuire interested in football again and that's got to be a big plus for us, his goal on Saturday and the quality of his free kick delivery with Charlie in the form of his life could gather us up some important goals like last night just got to keep going.
