People seem to forget that she oversaw as FD nearly 20 years of the worst waste of finances this club had ever seen. As an accountable person on a board of directors she cant get away without any blame over, certainly, these past five season.
Are you sure that was part of her remit? To ensure that the money was spent wisely as opposed to reporting on the spend?
Glad she’s gone, not that I’m particularly aware of her or the general job she has done but I’m sure she’s been particularly well remunerated over the past 20 years. She’s also been at the club when we’ve been in dire straits financially TWICE, first time when we were relegated in 2003 and then obviously since the relegation in 2017. The club needs a clean break from a lot of people who’ve been quite high up in the food chain over recent years.
its the responsibility of ALL Financial Directors....they present the data in spreadsheets, monthly and annual accounts to the board, of which they should be a member and are responsible for ensuring the business is financially run correctly.
You almost make it sound as if it was all her fault and nothing to do with the board and manager, not mentioning the football development team the chancers created to hide their incompetence
I had some dealings with SAFC financial department when Short and Lowes was there. Was shocked how amateurish and behind the times they were and would have been very easy to rip them off and run rings round them.
I think in the past on here I’ve mentioned a m8 of mine with good connections to Liverpool and it wasn’t a motivation problem he reckoned the lad had very bad mental health problems that’s why he struggled and was moved on only what I heard don’t shoot the messenger
No, not at all. I don't see where you see that in the post. I do however believe that for someone who has been in a position of authority and trust (FD) for the past 20 years or so and has overseen some of the diabolical financial decision made and ridiculous situations encountered, more recently the past five years, would expect to remain post takeover, that would be farcical. You have to be a strong willed person to do that job. As well as been a member of the board they have responsibilities to inform the members and shareholders of any financial problems that the company may find its self in. There have been quite a few, even you I think you would agree. No one likes to see anyone lose their job but even the most sceptical would agree that the clearing of the decks at SAFC has been long, long over due
