I've been possibly lucky, never had flu (never had the jab either) no, mumps, measles etc...The only thing I did have which was extremely horrible was Chicken pox which I caught from my kids when I was 30....really ill for a week, very high temp for 3 days and scabby spots, everywhere and I mean everywhere!! So I've had it, it's very unlikely I'll get it again!!
Apart from that, like you sports injuries including knees, totally shot away oh and bad back, shot discs, due to work, lifting a pallet of paper from a van!!
Apart from that.....fit as a butchers dog!!
NB. The worrying thing I do have....is that most of my family have/has been affected by cancer. So I have a very good chance of that.....so in my eyes, Covid is the least of my worries!!

They curved it, started off with 8 stations for the morning, increased it to 10 then towards late afternoon and early evening dropped back to 8.
Pfizer I believe has to be made up and used, which i believe they administered about 1000, then drew up 200 Astra's.......Did another 450 yesterday!!

1000 Pfizer takes 13,000 minutes! of time ....3 - 4 mins minimum from check in to needle, then rigid 10 mins recovery spaced out in 2m circles ... .... so need space for 20 at a time in peak Astra is about 4 -5 min minimum.. .. no recovery .. Stockwwod couldn't do that many, have only 8 doctors rooms and large waiting room normal times is 36 spaces [ side by side ] but only fit for 8 spaced and 2 in each of 2 doctors rooms ... It must be a massive practice, which one is it? .....

Sorry mate, it would be wrong for me to say as my Mrs is practice manager...But trust me, it is very well organised and covers a large catchment area (primary care network).
(they also give 10 mins recovery and check time for Astra too) all using separate recovery rooms with social distancing so I’ve been informed!!

My favourite organisation (and 1For's) the EU, are starting on digital vaccine passports.
We'll all need the vaccine to travel and sooner or later something similar is bound to happen here for pubs, cinemas, restaurants etc.

Interesting.... so, as Practice manager I take it that she actively promotes the vaccine. How does that sit with you and your views, and has she/will she have it?

I'm quite prepared to be told "mind your own ****ing business", but I'm pretty thick skinned so won't mind if you do!! :)

That's funny <laugh> The Brits will be the only people allowed to roam about if that's introduced!
The EU will effectively be preventing their own people travelling!

It might happen, personally I think it's easier said than done. One of the EU's main players (Germany) are very cautious regarding implementing this, until there is greater clarity about vaccines and infectiousness. It is still unknown how long the vaccines protect you for, might only be 6 months......Implementing this as a law could turn out nearly impossible.....but I will wait and see!!

    She makes her own decisions!!!
She has had the vaccine (first does) feels obliged to, as have all the other staff there, with the possible implications of the close contact environment she is in, although masks are worn the whole time, she also quite regularly self tests.
Her practice has a duty but she doesn't actively promote it to me or our family, knowing that we are all capable of making our own choices!

Germany are about to approve the vaccine for over-65's to be fair, they've accepted something went wrong in their approvals process. The general EU rollout of the vaccine has been an absolute shambles though.

I think I'm led to believe the vaccines have been very slow in Spain, even though the infection rate has dropped considerably. I think I'm right in saying that they have only just started on the over 80s....pretty slow process by all accounts....it could take over 6 months plus for all of them to be vaccinated......by then, we might need another one!!
Being able to update each and every persons passport to show current vaccination seems quite a task to me and that's presuming that the current vaccine protects from all of the other variants!! The fact that the Spanish economy thrives on tourism, be interesting to see how it pans out..

Took the wife to Ashton Gate for her (Oxford) vaccine last Friday (19th Feb). She went straight in and was the only person in there. All the staff were sitting around and told her they had been very quiet all day.
Not sure why this is - everyone should have their timeslots arranged, so perhaps people are simply not turning up?

I think there's been a little hiccup on supply at the minute, was expected apparently.....not sure if that's the reason for it being quiet at AG.

If the rumours are to be believed, vaccination can be expected to double soon. We seemingly have more than enough capacity, it's just supply. It would make sense if they have to hold back Pfizer's for the second dosage, and then perhaps push out the Johnson and Johnson one simultaneously once it's approved, as it's only one dose.

Fantastic news just published from PHE about the vaccine efficacy.
Not theory anymore, these results show the vaccine effect on the over 70s and 80s on hospital admission.
Further great news about the Oxford vaccine with proof that over 65s ARE protected which I'm sure will result an apology from Macron and Merkel.
    Fat chance.
