Just listened to the interview our new owner has given. Really really uplifting to hear calm wisdom looking to a long term view, noting how the Club has been so badly managed under previous owners but promising a better structure for the future. Everything I would want a owner to aim for. Exciting times, maybe too late for this season ... maybe, but the future looks good.
If only our team would lead the way and stop degrading the game by kneeling at the start. That posing is past it's sell by date. that is beginning to damage my love for the game.

Any ITKs have any input into Rubberface saying we’re in initial talks with Daniel Sturridge over the road?

Poor lad is taking some **** over there.

Isn’t Sturridge banned for betting irregularities, if it’s the case he can’t sign for anyone

I'd be disappointed with this type of signing. He was always injured even in his prime.

Players like Sturridge just need managing right. Look at how Big Sam looked after Kirchoff while he was here and he was immense, not been the same since. John Mensah was another while here, only really trained in the swimming pool didn't he? Going further back, Paul McGrath was another one, trained once or twice in the week while looking after himself and then played the matches.

Not saying Sturridge would be like any of the above but if we got 50% of games out of him on a pay as you play prove it type deal, no harm done and his experience could help the other lads.

Under the previous regimes if we signed someone like Sturridge I'd assume he was here to put his feet up and get paid for going on the piss and eating burgers, if this lot wanted him I'd feel confident they'd done their due diligence on his mental state.

I'm presuming this opened the position for Patrick Treuer rather than somebody new?

    That's great news.

I know we've all got behind the various regimes and been let down ...

... but that shouldn't stop us supporting KLD and his people.

With this move he's blown away the last of the SOL cobwebs and deserves our total support imo ...

... if it all goes wrong we'll live, we're hardened to it now <laugh>

I'd be absolutely shocked if the CFO of a major organisation was to leave that role to do it for us. Unless he can do both, which I doubt.

More likely a junior finance person from the Louis-Dreyfus group moves over to be CFO as almost succession planning for the big CFO gig later?

And by junior I mean less senior than the CFO, not an inexperienced kid.

I've got no negative feelings about Angela Lowes - been here a long time so deserves our thanks. Whether she was any good or not I don't think any of us can know - she was completely at the whim of the owners in terms of what money she had to control.

Important that KLD gets in a CFO he trusts though that can manage the funds and make sure we are being as creative as we are allowed to be in terms of FFP.

Can’t comment on lowes or the job she’s done as I don’t know anything about her. I’m just taking this as another positive sign that the club are going through a complete transformation and at very fast pace too.

What doesn't reflect massively well on her is that whilst this change has happened relatively quickly, it wasn't immediate.

It's like he's come in and fallen out with her immediately, or Treuer has met her and decided she's not up to it. You'd think if it was a certainty that they'd appoint their own CFO they'd have done so immediately rather than waited a couple of weeks to announce her departure.

Unless I'm reading WAAAAAAY too much into it like I always do :D It could just be part of their "message calendar" where they spread news of departures / incomings / other positive news over several weeks

  20. Good post mate. I would guess that most of the time she's identified when the previous owners needed to put up more cash, recorded the financial transactions dictated by others and reported the subsequent state of play to the Board on a regular basis. No blame for our decline attached to her.Suppose she'll have got a pay-off for her troubles.
Good to see KLD clearing the decks and appointing his own trusted people......exactly what we'd expect him to do.
    The future's bright...the future's red and white!
