One of the best of all time. We've just been watching the Queen's Gambit, great show. Can't have been easy to make a show about chess interesting but it does. Speaking of coffee I got a Tassimo machine the other day, the espressos make me feel high. Been on decent quality instants for years but this is a whole new ball game.
I have a coffee grinder, grind the beans fresh, then use an espresso machine with a frother for the milk. I try not to have to many as it is easy to become addicted.
Have you got any recommendations for a black coffee that will knock my socks off, as in a long drink like an Americano not an espresso? I've had a couple that have been nice but a bit lacking in strength.
I was doing security on a holiday complex in Nice when it came out. Me and another guard, Steve couldn't believe the dialogue and how it reflected the shyte we'd discuss.. When you're with people at work, and basically just standing around, the nights are long and you run out of normal conversation. So you start asking the other lads if they'd give a man a foot massage or what they think is the best way to dispose of a body ... ... or which weapon they'd choose to attack various celebrities
I was lucky enough to see it when it was first released. It can't have the same impact these days now it's been copied and homaged into oblivion.
Sorry I am not that expert, Robusta (?) Beans are know to be stronger than most, but tend to be bitter. More than one per day...definitely addictive. Really strong caffeine beans are very bitter and you have to add something to make it palatable. Easiest way to get a stronger coffee... use more beans, ie find one you like and double the your usual dose. Choose a machine with a big 'hopper' as it were. Or Mokka (?), a percolator to use on a hob, or solid fuel stove...is also good to produce a strong brew. Last Christmas a friend got me some whisky flavoured ground coffee...Vanilla us also nice.
I thought you might have some advice mate if we've both got the same machine which uses pods rather than ground coffee but no worries. Had a L'or one today which had a good kick to it.
Nothing wrong with pods, used them on holidays before, certainly a lot less mess and fuss. I think I just like the ritual, I have an electric grinder atm, but may get a manual one..
Doing it the proper way by grinding them myself was the first thing I thought of when I was looking at machines, but during the day in this house you don't even get time to go to the toilet in peace with two little ones on the loose so I went for the quicker option. Happy with it so far, makes a banging espresso in particular.
The misses prefers decaf pods I stick with the xl However I’ve ended up with Americano because that’s all was available With deliveries
Yeah that was the one I had today the XL, best so far. Apparently L'or do a similar one called intenso or something like that which is even stronger, going to give that a try.
L’OR XL are great. Especially as the cup is fuller as a standard. The other pods are poor in comparison to how big a cup you get.
