in many years time when wilks is the greatest manager never to have managed england (like cloughie)
we may look back at his playing career and laugh at how focussed he was on his job of scoring often pushing team mates aside to make sure the ball went in the net (like we did with cloughie)

so unless you can see into the future you cant really comment with hindsight correctly on this matter. (like cloughie)
plus most of us will be dead by the time he becomes a legend (like cloughie) (dead i mean not a legend) (although he is/was)
so why not wait until then before ruining this poor mans career before it has really got going and cant you tell i (like cloughie) ?

at fulham didnt kamara steal the ball off mitrovic the designated penalty taker? and miss? and then weeks later they had a big scrap and kamara went out on loan?

i think its bad form even though wilks will think he "earned" the right to take it.

as a manager you do want your most confident player to take the pen
and thats why you pick him before the game starts.

Yes, was a bit surprised when I saw that, but fitted in and contributed to the half time discussion, unlike the one on football focus who didn't.

I know it sounds patronising, but I mean the opposite, when she was discussing things with the others, who had years of experience of playing the game, you didn't think of the gender of who it was discussing it just someone who seemed well briefed and knew their stuff. In other words, picked for their ability to do the job and no other reason. And made a good job of it.

    That’s been the problem.

We’ve still got enough fixtures but like you say,one game at a time for now.

I have to admit that the girls who are involved in the horse racing punditry are all very knowledgeable. They are either daughters of trainers, jockeys or ex jockeys and all very capable:emoticon-0148-yes:

I really don't have a problem in jobs being given to capable/knowledgeable individuals.

I think both spots are still up for grabs for any team which has a winning run, confidence builds and goes a long way, I think our next away game is at Peterborough but two home games first. It’s just down to consistency, we all know how we hammered Portsmouth but lose to Burton. I know that happens sometimes in football but we have been doing this sort of thing regularly over the last few weeks. The only way we are going to gain promotion s to win a lot more than we have been doing lately but it is possible because we proved that in the first half of the season.lets hope today is the start of another winning run.

Same here. But that isn't always the case. Though to state that brings accusations of racism, sexism, misogyny...

Can you use hindsight while seeing into the future? Wouldn't you crick your neck?

Whatever happens in between I gotta feeling it’s going to go right to that Charlton game.

Peterborough way out in front in the form table table over the last 10 games with 25 points compared to our 14. However, the likes of Sunderland, Lincoln and Doncaster have only done marginally better than us despite our inconsistency. A lot of teams appear to be struggling a bit at home. Big week ahead if we can claim maximum points and hopefully shore up a top six place before our rivals start to play their games in hand.

If you take the average points per game into account it will take 10 wins in a row to draw level with the mighty Peterboro .
    That clearly is impossible.
So finishing second is the best hope .
The team should be comfortable in the belief that they will at least be in the play offs .

You're assuming they continue accumulating points at the same rate.

We've gotta play them so 9.

They'll hit their lean spell before the end of the season too.

If we win our next 2 games, and Peterborough lose their next 4 games to bring each club to having played 34 games, we would be ahead of Peterborough. Even if Peterborough lost 3 and drew one of those 4 games with us winning both of our 2 games, we would be ahead on goal difference, points per game being equal.

Statistics, damned statistics. Ifs and buts.

All down to the last 12 games !
