Thankyou everyone for all your kind words. I'm Victors son and luckily he was still logged in on his iPad from which I am writing this. I can't tell you his real name yet as the police have asked the family not to relay any information publicly in case it affects their investigations and also because social media can be a cruel place where people spread lies. I promise I will tell you all who he really was when we get the ok from the police. As to what happened I can tell you that this link is very accurate and explains all. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/cem-days-gorseinon-ford-crash-19900401 What I can tell you about Victor is that he was born before the war, lived through rationing and the Germans dropping bombs. He did his national service and served on active duty in Malaysia. He used to tell us he was more afraid of the snakes than the communist terrorists. He worked for British steel for donkeys years and believe it or not was a Welsh rugby union refreee for well over 20 years. He loved sport in general and would watch the cricket, rugby, F1, boxing and of course football too. He first saw the Swans in 1947 against Watford and supported them ever since, he was of course delighted when we won a derby and like us all it was always the one game above all he wanted us to win and I'm pleased the last one he ever saw was the win in December. But he was absolutely horrified at the animosity and always said that we are both Welsh and that bad blood shoulc be consigned to the bin, he was delighted when the fans did that in the last Euros. I'd just like to finish by saying that he absolutely loved his time spent on the forums and of all the characters he spoke to on here. He often would tell me of what had been happening and who had said what. He loved the sensible ones for their common sense and analysis of games and at the same time loved the lunatics as he called them. I cannot emphasise enough how much enjoyment he had with you lot on here and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. He would often read out posts to me or show me photos posted. He mentioned too many of you to mention but always said that if anything did happen to him I must get a message to you all and to tell the nutters Bubbles and Bovi that he's sorry he couldn't keep his promise of not kicking the bucket to them Nc that you would all understand it when he said he wants you to know that always considered you to be, in his words, a pair of effing thick twats and please carry on being effing thick twats until the time you join him upstairs Thankyou everyone for reading this and for all the friendship you gave my dad
Thanks for posting, it means a lot. You are welcome to post here anytime about Victor and contribute your own views if you like. Best wishes Victor junior
Victor Junior, Your Dad will be sorely missed - he was a lovely character. Please accept my sincere condolences. RIP Victor
I’m in tears again now Vic Jnr you twat. I truly loved your old man, he was an absolute diamond. I am really sorry I was never able to see him at a game for a pint as that was always the plan, and also ask if he was in Malaya/Borneo/Singapore the same time as my dad. My dad died in June 2019, like yours it was sudden, so I never got the chance to say goodbye either. I feel your pain Junior, but take heart in the fact he was well loved and respected by us all in here. Let’s hope your dad and mine are upstairs now having a fukin laugh over a pint, and thank you for taking the time to post at such a difficult time. My love and best wishes to you all xx
Always felt a connection - me and my Dad (who's probably getting Victor seated up there for the bingo) were both Bont boys - my Dad till his mid 20s and we both worked in Velindre my Dad for over 30 years and me for 15. As Bubbles said he was loved and respected on here - had a special place in this group. Stay strong!
Just to reiterate everyone's thoughts and to thank you for posting, Victor will never be forgotten by any of us.
I can’t think what you and your family are going through. Victor was a treasured member of this forum and as all ready mentioned we all felt a connection with him. He will be sorely missed by us all. Please take care and pass on our condolences to all your family. RIP Victor YJB.
Thanks for your comments about your dad Victor Junior he served this country well and his input on this site was always much appreciated. Please take care of yourselves.
Oh my god I am mortified I am genuinely upset and don’t have the words after reading all this and the other thread **** losing today, who gives a ****, I’m welling up here this is the worst news ever. I hope Vic has knocked on the pearly gates, told St Pete to hurry up, open up so he can watch the Swans in heaven and that he met a pair of ****ing thick twats that will be up there sooner or later with him
No shame in that mate. I’m proud to have known such a wonderful fella. I just wish we’d had the chance to meet, and chew the fat over a pint.
I no longer give a toss about any result this season or even if we go up or stay put. For me my season has finished after reading this, some things are far more important
