Its just a pity that we couldn't get a decent head onto Maguire's free kicks... we could have completely stolen the game...

I reckon Hume is still weak in a back four, someone mentioned Flanagan at LB and I agree he is probably the best fit there in a back four, Hume as better as a wingback

Imagine Parky making 4 subs after 60 mins. Impressed that he changed it and we pulled it back. I feel much more optimistic than I did at half time. Bring on Tuesday!

Happy with the point in the end. I said before that the bench would do the damage late on. Some of the comments on here mind in first half FFS. LJ arrogant? <laugh>

I dont agree with that personally mate. Flanagan is a lower level league 1 player in my opinion. Trying to get promoted with him in the team then we might aswell just give up. Hes bad when he plays his natural position as a Left sided CB, moving him out of position would be a disaster

Good interview by Johnson imo. In real time I was thinking the subs are coming on too late but understand what he’s saying about still learning about the players. Interested to see what he goes with against Swindon

I’m with you mate, Flanagan fills me with concern, he’s ok straight on, he’s not an awful player, but if he’s left side and comes up against pace or a bit of skill we are ****ed.

We’ve got the lad from Saints of course, he hasn’t looked up to it but he’s gotta have something about him to be rated enough to make his PL debut.

We should have 6 banker points in the board before Pompey.

Peterborough had 3 attempts on goal against 2nd bottom Wigan and needed a late penalty to beat them.

I keep thinking that aswell mate. He started against Arsenal less than a month ago??
I wrote a thread on the Southampton page and most of their fans agreed defensively he is very suspect, his main strength is when he's attacking. He has an excellent cross apparently.

reet, enough been said on that 1st half...

2nd half we decided to turn up and make a wee bit of a fight of it (why do we struggle to play for 90 minutes?) the subs again came to our rescue, hope this is the start of a maguire run again and jones to get more minutes.

when i was watching the streams i struggled to see what mcfaz was doing well, woefully out of position as a LB but no real space created/runs made/no overlaps as WB, seems he has not shown anything over the past 5 games either, vokins did seem to have a much better 2nd game so maybe time for him to get a start?

wyke must be running on fumes by now, hopefully he can have a break soon, mcgeady also.

i always used to look forward to games against Crewe, have never seen them put a 'bad' team out and always enjoyed those games when Dario was boss, seems they are continuing that tradition as a 'limited' team that plays from the heart and tries to play attractive football, much rather see them get some succes than most other time wasting ****housery teams we regularly see.

    point gained imho.

I agree, mate. We don't have a pair of proper full-backs. McLaughlin & Flanagan are our best choices, but them in a back four feels too negative to go and beat teams in this league.

It's games like this that can define your season.

The next time we go behind, and we will, the players will refer back to Crewe and think 'Come on lads, we're better than this'.

If that's away to Portsmouth that's worth more than a win today.

This season is starting to feel like our first season back in the 3rd Division when we never gave in ...

Lets be honest mate, how many wing backs can defend nowadays, at any level.

There role is more containment and pressing them back a lot of the time. If the lads good on the ball, and has decent delivery, then for us, as a time gunning to win games, toss him in for me.

The term 'hairdryer treatment' is used in football to describe an angry verbal reprimand, usually delivered by a manager to an individual player or group of players within a dressing room. It is a simple metaphor which likens such a tirade to the loud and heated propulsion of air from a hairdryer.

I’ve felt like we were just building some momentum and despite only getting a draw, the way we got it feels like we’re keeping that momentum going. A lot to play for for us yet and as you say, I think this was a moment we might look back on at the end of the season.

Personal opinion, 1st is gone for me (probably has been all season) and to be honest best of luck to Peterborough, I don’t mind them as such and quite like their owner, we were terrible for a large portion today but that last minute equaliser put us a point closer to second, after 96 minutes I had given up on automatics :emoticon-0102-bigsm

We were 7 points off second this morning, we're 6 points off second tonight ...

    ... that's all that matters.
