You might be right, but it also shows what can be achieved when you actually pass the ball forward and there is a structure to the tactics, something missing for 12 months.
A proper manager who clearly saw what needed to change after that first half performance, brilliant second half performance from everyone, got a big smile on my face after watching that having had a rough few months personally. Up the city, onwards and upwards
Welcome back Tom, sorry you have gone through these last few weeks, stay strong mate and I'm glad you've returned amongst us.
I just had this gut feeling that our players were not performing for both of our last 2 coaches and I think we all knew that the old status quo was never taking us anywhere. Stepping outside of your own little comfortable box takes a lot of guts but I think time will prove that Lansdown made the right choice in Pearson and not only was it executed with precision and timeliness it could prove a game changer. Well done Steve.
I think the last 2 coaches were far too negative, sideways/backwards, very few chances created, very few shots, very few goals and very little attacking intent.
I agree and I find it strange that the first thought of certain posters is not praise but a negative comment obviously inspired by a need to hang on to the notion that he maybe right. Just saying.
wowee I missed it all visiting and shopping didn't put the radio on till about 1715 and 20 man ... how he described it at that point thought we had drawn it ... next bloke came on and said something about Monday then said we won 3-1 whoooooopeeeee I may have to go into isolation ... I might be a jinx!!!!!!!!!
Think you lot need to settle down. Easily could have been 3 down at h/t. Great chamge for 2nd half by NP. Palmer's daft hand ball changed their mentality. After the goal they changed and wanted to play on the back foot allowing us to get in the game. They will learn you can't switch on and off in game of football. Our 2nd was a freak and their keeper got caught big time for our third. Saying all that I loved our 2n half performance, effort and attitude. Great confidence builder and also liked the on pitch huddle at the final whistle. Think we've found a manager at last.
Really? A couple of half chances, Mariappa cleared a soft shot off of the line but I can only recall one Bentley save and even that one the guy had been pushed wide. Agree about the great change of shape. You must have had an angle that I haven't seen because, I would say from what I have seen it was at best inconclusive and the referee was never in a position to say it was a definite penalty. It may have been a penalty but I haven't seen conclusive proof yet. I agree about them changing the way that they played, that is exactly what we would have done a couple of weeks ago. What I liked was that even though we were under great pressure in the first half, on the odd occasions that we did break out, our first thought was always a forward pass for a change, something totally missing for almost a year, the passing was just a little off. And for a first time in almost a year I cannot recall once where a move on the edge of their area ended with us gradually passing backwards and the ball ending up at the feet of Bentley. I am not getting carried away but it is just great to see us actually trying to get on to the front foot for a change. Wells was terrific and his goal made by the equally terrific Vyner was the sort of service that he has totally lacked since his arrival, he looks like a huge weight has been lifted from his shoulders. It was a team performance and it was deserved.
If Carling did Saturday sports, this is what it would look like. Not happy with the first half in both games but both turned it round in second half. **** you Swansea And suck on that English ball bags
Tony Thorpe just tweeted us to win the championship next season. Palmer and Wells found there mojos again. Palmer was MOM for me .
Oh what a silly comment, my comments before was of positivity and not negative at all. You’ve been moaning about most of the players in the squad and I pointed out we have got some decent players, as it’s playing out.. just saying
I agree with most of that.. wasn’t convinced theirs was a penalty. Thought we did well to keep them out in first half, but looked much better organised than I’ve seen for a while. Nige’s first game, great result and hopefully more of the same to come.
just watched the rugby and wales deserved that win even though the ref was ****in useless. French twat
It’s proof, the French hate the English more than Wales. I was embarrassed with the first half decision but like City it was the second half performance that sealed it.
Jiffie, not surprised you didn't see the header from a few yards. Bentley didn't either, just bounced off his chest to safety. How did Hunt stop/clear that cross from 3 yards? Excellent defending. 1For, it was a penalty, confirmed for me by the half hearted reaction of other City players. What he put his hand out for only Palmer knows. But it changed the game in our favour, Swansea have only themselves for changing their game plan and attitude. Great win but things went for City today. Remember a manager of mine saying a long time ago 'the harder you try, the more work you put in, the luckier you become'. Great win for us.
