I'm sure we'd have got 20 mins a game out of him and he'd have kept defenses honest in that time. We need(ed) to take pressure off Moore and he could well have done it. Id have had him to the end of the season.
That could well be a factor in Mick's apparent reluctance to play him. Anyway, there's no way he would start him up top as long as Keiffer is available and Murphy alongside him looks the way he's going. Mick has already shown a preference for Harris as a substitute if either has to come off. Ojo is also always in the frame as an option. Got a feeling Watters might sit out the season.
Always tough for a new signing when the manager who signs you leaves before you get on the pitch. I'm sure there will be work going on with fringe players to get them up to speed but Mick will be focussing on the here and now. Watters probably needs a full pre-season if he's to fit into a formation new to him.
While he left us under a bit of a cloud years ago I would have welcomed him back. Proven scorer and cover for Moore without changing system as is needed for Watters or Harris who don't have the physicality needed. Anyway, history now.
Craig Conway playing (just been subbed) for St. Johnstone v Livingston in League Scottish Cup Final. Winning 1.0. JET on as sub for Livingston.
I think the only good thing JET did for us was tee up Whitt's brilliant volley goal. Was that against Forest?
I think that was Bothroyd if it was THAT goal was against Barnsley As for JET, I seem to remember him doing something for Ramsey to score at Hull or maybe he scored himself.
I thought it was Bothroyd too until I saw a run through of previous goals on City Live before a recent game. Could be wrong though.
Okay, Googled Whittingham's best goals for Cardiff Indeed Both did teeup a spectacular volley for Whitts. Scored from just inside left hand of box. But the next one in the clip of 5 was cushion volleyed to Whitts by JET. Scored from just left of centre, outside the box. The other team were in red and the commentator named Jason Shackell for the opposition. The only team in red he played for were Barnsley 2010/11. Inspector Clouseau eat your heart out.
So true Ninian. Apart from Wilson we have no one else remotely capable if doing anything similar. So many great memories.
Although not as graceful and perhaps on the wane a little now but in fairness, Hoilett has scored a few beauties for us too. On the ex-player front, I see Jobi McAnuff has been named as caretaker manager at Orient. I was gobsmacked to see he was still playing regularly for them too.
Quite right, features regularly on Sky - and by the depth of his voice, he must have been a big hit in the showers.
