    A bit of local politics.
As someone who has spent most of his life, in Southampton, living just to the side of the southern flight path I am aware of the noise pollution when the airport is fully operational, but I still hope that Southampton Airport gets the go ahead to extend the runway.
The anticipated usage of the airport is expected to drop below the number that makes it sustainable, in a very few years.
An extended runway opens the airport up to Boeing 737 and Airbus 320 type planes, which means that the airport could (love them or hate them) attract Ryanair or EasyJet (the latter possibly the more likely with Ryanair already flying out of Bournemouth) and increase the footfall through the airport to a level that stops it from being rundown to nothing.

This is incredible, Matt Hancock completely losing the plot:

He never had the plot. And none of this makes any difference because there is no credible opposition regardless of how appallingly Matt and his chums perform.
    Sad days

Perhaps Lammy ought to have a word with Keith then and get some questions asked...

Notice how Fiona Bruce, wife of a Tory party donor, cuts in at the end to put forward a quick response in defence of the government.

Notice how, if you actually watched QT the other night, Fiona Bruce also directed a question specifically about Government failure of PPE straight to Annalise Dodds to answer as a way to stick the knife in further, despite not making up any part of the Government?

See, we can all put a biased slant on things, or sensibly accept that the BBC are in actual fact neutral enough to cause an argument of bias from either side. Or instead allow little snippets that fit the rhetoric of what you choose to believe.

MODS - can you look into my account and the access privileges i have on this thread?

Ive scoured the last 5 or so pages and could not see any of the vitriol, personal insults and inhuman behaviour levied towards the allegedly corrupt behaviour by Nicola Sturgeon, in the ongoing case v Mr Salmond.

Have I been blocked from viewing these?

If she's guilty of what she is accused of then she deserves to be attacked Billy. I have no dog in this fight but feel free to skag her off if you feel the need.

While we're on the subject it would be nice if Keir Starmer actually grew a pair for once.

To be honest Chilco, you probably know my view, in that I’m not really arsed about the politics, it is just a massive chunk rich, that the only attacks, many of a personal nature, go towards the incumbent Government, most of which are certainly not proven at the time of the post, and that is what irks me.

Surely an equitable view on Politics would be to call out all the **** that happens, you know, to support a balanced view and add to a rounded debate :emoticon-0136-giggl

It isn’t equitable and shows the people up who do so for what they really are.

Who knew I had more of a social conscious than I thought. I always did have a soft spot for Michael Foot after all.

Anyhow, I’m off to shred lots of branches from trees i cut back a while ago, have great days all...

I think it will be interesting to see what happens with Wee Jimmy Krankie. If it materialises she has broken the ministerial code, she should go, especially as she so vehemently criticised the SMP who came down to London with Covid and said she should resign.

Possibly, but my point is the tribal nature of politics. Things will never change politically as it currently happens that people do a point scoring thing, of slagging off the oppposition. It is the same on the terraces during a game, but even that is getting more muted.

Not getting at Chilco, but his response sums it up for me - about wanting Starmer to grow some balls. I would have thought it would be best to back the person/party who I believe in, not hoping a certain colour will appease to my views.

Anyhow, mores importantly, the new shredder i brought and went to use fo the 1st time is ****ing broken <yikes>

Now, off to raise with Amazon and hope they don’t get pissy about it - i purchased it which arrived early Jan, didnt get to use it as it was so cold and wet...
