    Match Preview;
So we head to Birmingham having not won just one of our last five games, to play against a side who have only won one of their last five. In fact, Birmingham have won two of their last ten, losing seven, drawing one and winning just two. This poor run leaves them 21st in the table, just one place and two points from the drop. Scott Hogan is their main threat, having scored six goals so far this year. Nice to look through their backroom staff, and see that Aitor Karanka has bought in his younger brother, David, as his assistant...and has ex-Ranger Tony Roberts as their goalkeeping coach. Seems like they have a good set up, but it isn't working...they are on a shocking run at the moment, which if it continues, will surely see them drop down to League 1...Rotherham are only two points behind them, with two games in hand.

As for us, after four wins in a row, we could only manage a point on Wednesday against Preston, in a pretty poor game. My five year old summed it up when he snuck out of bed at 9pm, and cuddled up next to me because he wanted to watch with his Daddy. It's the school holidays, and who doesn't want to watch Rangers with their boy...after five minutes he chose to take himself back to bed. Still, it was a draw in a game which may well have been lost a few months ago...so not all negative.

I'll add team news if it goes on the official, and others can, as you already have started doing, add what you know below. Enjoy one and all, and...

    ...COME ON YOU SUPER, HOOPSA!!!

St Andrew’s in the 1976/77 season, when we lost to the goal of the season scored by Trevor Francis, was a truly intimidating place - a dump, occupied by aggressive cretins, surrounded by ‘mind your car’ brick carrying oiks. One of those places where an empty stadium is a vast improvement.

But I still prefer the bluenoses to ****ing Villa.

    cheers Dave.

Match prediction; QPR win and Dykes to score, now surely that will be decent odds

I don't care for either of them, but of those that I've met the Villa fans have been the nicest. And I prefer their home kit.
Another away game, probably a draw. Hopefully, at least. This is one of the away games I've never been to for some strange reason. Probably something to do with shift work back in the day.

I envisage that there will be changes to the starting eleven to "refreshen" the team.

I guess that that they key Candidates may be Chris Willock and Sam Field, plus we may see the debut of Jordy de Wijs.

Jordy de Wijs could allow us to rest Geoff Cameron - possiblly for one half. But I am not sure how to introduce Willock and Field. Possibly to replace Dykes and Ball? Plus, we could also see Kakay for Kane?

    Any thoughts?

Personally, I not a big fan of wholesale changes to a team that's gathering momentum. It usually backfires. By all means make one or two changes, but that's all.

Yes. This is the issue and not an easy topic to resolve, especially when "tinkering" with the defence.

I think that there will be some changes on Saturday, but one needs to see the players in training, etc, to have the insight to correctly either stabilise or rotate the team.

Let's see what MW will think of for Saturday.

Thanks for this interesting info as I was not aware.

Well done to Barbet seems to be playing quite consistently and well at the moment. Relative solid in defence, with no crazy tackles giving away penalties or scoring own goals, plus he seems to be relishing going forward and having shots on goal. He also seems to be relatively fit.

Would make sense to change it up a little but wouldn't be surprised to see the regular starters. Pretty sure there must be some serious fatigue in our team by now

The player that really looks like he has needed a rest for a while to me is Chair, but not sure if his obvious replacement Willock can play long enough, which maybe why Chair hasn't been given a break yet. Hope Willock can manage 70 minutes or so. Chair will probably come back sharper for a rest.

I'd like to see Albert get more time too, scored a great strikers goal a few games back and barely seen him since. Would like him to get some time on the park with Austin, would probably have to be in place of Dykes as I cant see him lasting long enough at RWB.

Last place I'd want to see changes, from the start at least, would be to the Keeper and the back 3, who have been pretty solid together now for 10 games or so. We have a very good defensive record since we went 3 at the back.

Why would a 24 (?) year old proffessional footballer not manage 90 minutes?
