Southampton man labelled a ‘flop’ – Among ‘most obvious’ failures in club’s recruitment. Wesley Hoedt’s return to Italy on loan from Southampton simply hasn’t worked out. He’s been dropped a number of times only to return to the starting line up out of pure necessity shortly afterwards, but the general consensus is he’s been a ‘flop’. http://sportwitness.co.uk/southampton-man-labelled-flop-among-obvious-failures-clubs-recruitment/
https://www.goal.com/story/the-making-of-jamal-musiala/index.html Sorry if it’s been posted elsewhere, but who bloody knew that we nearly had Bayern’s wonder kid Jamal Musiala? No surprises that Chelsea and Arsenal were so quick to try and snatch him, really shows how hard it is for us to compete.
Taking some time out from the hectic move preparations to see far to much doom and gloom. **** happens just duck when it hits the fans.
I sent someone off whilst warming up once. Bit unlucky for the sub really. Complete coincidence I was looking in his direction when he gave me the finger. The look on his face when I saw him was priceless.
I got booked during the tossing of the coin in a college game once. I was captain and it was against Peter Symonds college who hated us. Their PE head/referee was a twat. He tossed the coin and I called heads as it landed; it was heads. He said we had to toss again as I called too late (whistle blowing millisecond anyone?) so he tossed again. I caught the next one on my thigh, calling heads. He tossed it again. The next time, I called heads, heads, heads, heads, heads as the coin tumbled through the air. It was tails. I said, “I suppose that’s ok now then.” He booked me. All levels, they’re the same.
I played in a game once back in the 80s where our GK shouted something profane at the ref and the ref called him over and asked for his name to be booked. The Keeper said "Peter Shelton" and the ref thought he was taking the piss and sent him off!...
I got sent off for pointing out the rules. I fouled somebody just inside their half on the wing. Their player rolled the ball about 15 metres forward and I kicked the ball back to where the foul was. Their player did the same thing again, so I did as well. The ref came over and said “What are you doing” so I pointed out that their player was moving the ball miles forward. His response was “Why do you care/why does it matter” I said “because it’s the ****ing rules and that’s what you’re here for” He sent me off. Think that was against a Wessex league club, Tom was probably ref
