Posting something from December 23rd has nothing to do with anything, you embarrassing apologist for the government overseeing the worst death toll of any large country in the entire world.
Getting awfully tetchy on here. The problem seems to be that you are arguing over when Boris announced what, and when he then changed his mind about it and announced something different. Trouble is there have been so many changes you'll just end up going round in cycles on this one. Numbers in the UK are now much better than in France, which wasn't the case a while ago...rumours are that we are heading back into lock down, and will be under curfew from this weekend.
I’m definitely not claiming Johnson has caused the death of 100k + people, I merely suggested that to hold him up as a hero in this would probably not be best advised to be saying to the families of those who have lost their lives through this pandemic. Johnson and his government have made some serious mistakes from telling the nation he went into a hospital and shook hands with the patients, backing Cummings and creating a one rule for them situation, the repeated late lockdowns, the track and trace fiasco, the contracts to businesses with either no track record or ill equipped to provide product and services, refusing to shut the boarders.. the list goes on. The one thing I think everyone can congratulate this government with is the gamble of buying up the vaccines at very early stages, it has proven to be a great decision and other nations holding back on that decision has put the U.K. well ahead of the curve there. The NHS and the healthcare system have to take a lot of praise for how well the roll out has gone as well. To claim Johnson is in part responsible for 100k + deaths is about as crazy a suggestion as to say his and his government’s actions or lack of in some cases aren’t in part responsible for any.
Let's be honest, even the simplest folk in the country knew that 'saving xmas' was an absolute moronic thing to say or try and do. Johnson and co just made themselves look ****ing dafter than they are by doing so. It was right up there with choosing to keep the borders open on the basis that the virus was already amongst us along with opening schools for a vital single day! Throw in 'eat out to help out' and a 10pm curfew on pubs just to help increase infection rates. If only they had used another imaginary protection ring similar to that of the care homes!
You're not next door neighbours are you? If so is there any prospect of the two of you shacking up together in a bubble for the remainder of the lockdown?. 50% of all posts on these two threads must be between you.
Do you honestly think that this has been called for? To me this is almost certainly nothing more than a marketing ploy to get some free advertising
Indeed - all potatoes should be outraged that their feelings haven't been taken into account. The potato society has been enslaved to the human race for too long, providing them sustenance without any thoughts to the pain it has caused, especially the King Edwards and Jersey Royals who have been wolfed down by generations of heartless Brits. Viva the potato revolution!
Assume you mean Salmond and not Andrew Neil! Yes, nasty piece of work. But Sturgeon has questions to answer about withholding material information on the affair from the Scottish Parliament, and then lying about it, and now redacting documents that could incriminate her. Banana republic is right
Shamima Begum held by Supreme Court to be a security threat and not able to return to uk to fight for her citizenship. Government win.
Well in this instance he was correct. However he has said so much covering every angle that sooner or later he would get something right.
Agreed. As I understand it, she can still appeal her citizen status, but if she is not here to do it, it's a whole lot harder. I have zero sympathy for her. Anyone who follows ISIS and conducts their style of terror has psychopathic tendencies imo
