i know mate me and Billy exchange PMs and emails regularly and we were arranging for him to come visit before he passed on, he was also big pals with Comm who he also called dave but his real name is Paul, its was an in joke from Only Fools and Horses he was also mates with a lady who posted on here that had high heels as an avatar
enjoyed the criac with comm, he is a great lad and fun to be with, he is also close with Tel who was a big poster on here for all he was a Manc he is on the Prem Board as well also Staff, all left with disagreements with a particular poster on here if im not mistaken
by the way he has been back in the North East ages now, last time we spoke was when i sponsored him on here after Brbs post for support
Met Comm in Thailand when he was working there, you're right Makemstine Roger, a lovely bloke very easy to get on with. Even had my wife joking along especially when he talked her into going to a topless bar.
i remember comm telling me an Billy that story bit hazy now, along with the sausage one ,Billy was a little bugger for getting banned mainly from the mags board he hated Alberts Chippy with a vengeance but Cyprus Syd was always decent with him.
I've seen comm post elsewhere from time to time and does seem good craic. I messaged him but he ignores me Can't blame him really
Sid was a great bloke. I hope he's keeping well. Gave a lot to this place if I remember rightly. I believe I stormed off from Sundermad early on for **** knows what reason.
I like Comm and Tel and they kept the board ticking over when it was really really quiet a few years back, albeit about 5% of their posts were Sunderland related. They seem to have found solace in the Prem board which is fair enough.
I think Syd simply lost interest after a few drifted away and of course he had other far more important issues to deal with, particularly his partner who was very ill. I always found it a bit like your favourite pub, you could pop in occasionally and you knew who would be there. It was frequented by a fair number of 'older' fans like myself and unfortunately numbers took a natural hit and it was thanks to Syd's efforts that it lasted so long.
Loved Billy and Syd was a cracking chap too. Shame about the Sundermad forum. Maybe Syd will come back here now? Be great to have him back
