Alex Salmond is starting to turn the screw and is getting Surgeon all flustered. Today we had a nasty exchange in Parliament between the fishy one and Ruth Davidson.

Salmond's evidence has caused quite the political stink in Holyrood's short history and no inquiry currently under way is fully equipped to clear the air.

In his evidence to the Scottish Parliament, Salmond accuses some of the most powerful people of plotting to remove him from public life and send him to jail. Pretty serious stuff and this could be quite a hammer blow to someone who once worked arm in arm with him.

Salmond points the finger at key figures and suggests they have been aided and abetted by Scotland's prosecution service, the Crown Office.

Sturgeon insists Mr Salmond has not produced a "shred of evidence" to back up his allegations. Salmond doesn't strike me as a man who would make things up and wouldn't it be hilarious if it was found that Sturgeon was responsible for a massive cover up.

She likes to portray she is different and a strong leader who can be trusted. Lets see if she is ACTUALLY that...

She is a horrible little woman Pops. If Scotland had an opposition the calamity she is presiding over in the Scottish NHS and education would be exposed.
It is crazy that there is an SNP gov't minister in charge of the Crown Office, so The Crown Office is basically aligned with the SNP.

Erm, please re-read the first line of my post #11213 last Tuesday. There just aren't enough vaccines available at the moment, Astra Zeneca or otherwise, even for old geezers like me! To be honest, would prefer the BioNTech/Pfizer stuff, but I doubt if I will have a choice. The situation in Germany is catastrophic. Health Minister, Spahn, and Chancellor Merkel don't know whether they are "punched, bored, or reamed". Merkel is walking around with a dazed look and just seems to have "lost it" with this pandemic crisis. We are rudderless here! :( <yikes>

I think the unrest within Sweden, Holland, France and Italy (probably others) is causing extra pressure. So many countries with pressure growing to leave the Bloc. Whether any of them will have the balls to do it is another matter

Guess my post was harsh, Ron, but we're really fed-up down here, as is the rest of the country, I would imagine. Even the Bavarian Minister-President, Markus Söder, seems to have vanished. Wife says his silence is deafening.
Musing out loud, I just wonder if he's kicking himself for going along with the Federal Government and the other State Minister-Presidents on how to handle this crisis? You know, he could well have arranged for the Bayern Free State to purchase enough vaccines for its bona-fide residents? Bavaria is wealthy, no doubt about that, and could have easily handled sufficient purchases of approved vaccines for its Bürger? Just a thought.

Some people have never had a vaccine.
please log in to view this image

A 94 year old woman living in Berkshire had the jab and says people should “think about other people rather than themselves”.
A 66 year old woman living in Berlin has not had the Oxford/AstraZeneca jab claiming the German authorities have not approved it for people over 65. Germany has 1.4 million unused doses according to The Times.

Seems Chancellor Merkel won't take the AstraZeneca vaccine because she has been told it's not suitable for her age group. Then, how about my and my wife'sage group? <laugh> As I said just a short while ago, guess I'll take it if that's all they can offer, but we don't even have an appointment yet, even though we filled-in all the paperwork some time ago. It is virtually impossible to contact the health people on this subject too, a right disgraceful mess!
