Some handle it, some don't but its as much a confidence game as it is about ability and discipline. Players are regularly taken out of the spotlight for that very reason young ones especially.
Not another ****ing game Shirley? Will it never end? You know it's never over, it's relentless as the rain.
There is now very little room for bad performances, this is a must win game if there is to be any hope of automatic promotion. Frankly, I am sure with a better manager we would be streets ahead of others in the league, but we have had too many games whereby opposition managers have out-thought us. It happened Saturday at Donny, they changed their system at half time and we didn't react to it. How you can go from nearly total dominance in the first half to the complete opposite in the 2nd, really takes some doing. I know we had things go against us midway through the second half, but even up till then we were 2nd best all over the park. Let's hope we can get a couple of wins this week and get us back to winning ways, as we really need to go on a run now.
Hi john. I think 85 points is a minimum for the top two. That is 32 points from the remaining 16 games. I've not seen any reports on how george honeyman is, so we could be without both him and greg docherty . It's a tall ask now
Well we have lost Smallwood, Honeyman and the Doc. First choice midfield out. Doc has been exceptional with the energy he brings to the side. It’s going to be an interesting selection tonight. We might see Flores and be real impressed. Slater could up his game and take his chance. We can only hope but 1 nil to City is my call.
Ipswich won't have given up on the play-offs yet and with us having a new midfield lineup I wouldn't surprised to see a nil-all draw. A scruffy 1-0 would be good though and I think we have enough to do it.
I think we'll lose tonight without that midfield. Hopefully I'm wrong and we can overcome that and win by a couple. Or am I not allowed to think that?
Believing we'll lose because we've lost our most important two players in the midfield which arguably create the most chances = attention seeking. okay. I guess we have to predict only positive results now. I guess those voters up there and previous posts also predicting a loss are attention seeking too, best call them out. Really hope I'm wrong and we win, but the usual suspects will just say I wanted it either way. Hopefully, we can overcome losing our most creative player and win by a couple of goals.
OK Quill, lets rephrase things: There is a distinct possibility that we may be without our 3 first choice midfielders tonight. It will be interesting to see how Grant McCann, who is not known for his tactical flexibility, copes with this situation. Only Alfie Jones and Regan Slater spring to mind as replacements and only Mr Jones is remotely adequate. Rather a shame we sold Mr Batty. With this situation in mind, I, along with others, am not particularily confident of victory this evening, but, as always with Hull City, who knows.
If I put that I'd still get the same response. In fact, I've made plenty of multi-paragraph posts about my feelings on the performances with the usual stuff thrown back. It doesn't matter.
So when you get ploughed under by The Tractor Boys (see what I did there) tonight, will it be because:- A. You’re missing some of your best midfielders? B. McCann can’t react to or implement the necessary changes because he’s tactically inept? C. The £18-25 million ‘McKechnie Orange’ claims you received from ‘the Bowen fee’ has been misused/ pocketed by unscrupulous owner? D. Ipswich Town played better & deserved to win (no caveats)?
