To be fair I was thinking the worst this morning. Finished work late (about 10pm) so ate and drank and basically fell asleep watching TV. Went to bed about 1:30am and thought "Oh ****, I haven't done the dishwasher". Mrs No7 said "Oh it's ok I filled it". I always joke with her that as a kid did she ever play that round peg and square peg game as she wouldn't be any good at it as she just seems to lack the vision of where to put things. This morning went like this: No7 fills up the kettle to ¾ so not cheating, but giving himself a fair chance. Cautiously he walks over to the dishwasher door, braces himself. "Alexa, play the Chain by Fleetwood Mac" Suspense fills the kitchen. "Alexa, turn on the kettle" All systems go! The door is pulled open and the bottom tray pulled out. No7 always starts at the bottom. Two plates, bottom cupboard..gone. Side dishes, same cupboard...gone. Kettle starting to warm up a bit, still quiet and about a minute to go. Within the next 10 seconds, bottom tray empty, except for the cutlery - that is always the last thing to go. The top tray is pulled out and the first thing No7 notices is that the cups are on the left rather than the right side that he has put them all his life. Damn that Mrs No7 for changing a 'winning' way. Cups quickly put away, except for the one for Mrs No7 and a teabag chucked in for good measure. This is going to be ok. The rest of the top tray is now put away just the cutlery left. Kettle really noisy now, probably 20 seconds to go tops. The two top draws are opened the cutlery tray taken over. Sharp knives are put away first so No7 can pick up speed for the final run. And there we go, last fork away, tray back in dishwasher and spoon in hand for the tea. "The kettle has boiled" says Alexa. No7 smiles as he pours the water into the cup and looks forward to a Southampton victory once again. Play this as you read my post. It will be like you were here:
I think we'll win this one and get the show back on the road and if we can finish this season as we did the last then there's a chance of maybe a top eight position. 2-1 Saints Danny and possibly a JWP special.
Well, that rogue teabag suggests an injury to a star player, which is unfortunate, but the cups being on the left rather than the right, is an obvious sign that we will win the FA cup this year, so it's all good. Good job, Spoon Boy!
Ah of course. So we will win the final in extra time, with a goal scored by an Academy player, using his weaker foot. Cool.
Morning Saints fans from a Leeds fan living in Southampton City Centre.... Feel free to debate us (if you wish). We are a friendly bunch. https://www.not606.com/threads/leeds-utd-v-southampton.390751/#post-14648692 We have a PM group with loads of working streams. Anyone that requires it, let me know. Good luck for the rest of the season!!!!
So you got away from Leeds then? I like Leeds as a place - my daughter lived there for ten years so i know it quite well - but going there as an away fan was interesting. I remember going there in League One. It was snowing, and as we got out of the car we met up with a couple of families all scarved up ready for the match. We asked which pub was best for away fans, and received a pitying look. They listed pubs that they wouldn't go in as the fans in them were mental, and finally concluded that the best we might do was a take away coffee and a hot dog. Lost 1-0 and pelted with all kinds of detritus from 'fans' who were using the Billy Bremner statue as a vantage point. Bizarre, because I found going out on a Saturday night there was very safe. Do they only let these nutters out for matches?
Leeds fans are very fickle - ow no we're not.... We have our fair share of idiots. I remember 3 or 4 years back it pelted down with snow in April. I was up at Elland Road and come 3pm it starting pelting down not snowflakes, but snowballs. Come final whistle I nicked someones taxi by offering the driver an extra tenner, got back to the hotel and took my life in my hands on the M1N. 8 hours later, I was back. Sounds like you were unlucky to come across these idiots, especially as Saints supporters. Leeds have no beef with them. The Drysalters Pub allow home and away supporters. Good selection of beers and Ales. Not up to the standard of the Dancing Man but not bad...
On the TSP Podcast they did a comparison of the best and worst penalty savers, and Fraser is top, which is quite handy considering the games he has coming up
