I think that's just finding excuses tbh mate, happens all the time and generally no one gives too much of a ****. We were ****e (again) and deserved to lose (again).
absolutely nothing as it is not in Var's protocols to look at that sort of stuff -thank **** as we still get loads of ****e decisions but now with added interruptions . PS by we in the above i mean football fans before the lurkers claim anything else .
There was a bit more to it than the usual ploy of moving up a few yards. Everton took a throw in and it looked like the wind caught it and it did not enter play. The Everton player walked a good way up to pick up the ball where it landed and took another throw in from there. I was baffled at the time as to what was going on but I have not looked at it again. Did anyone else see that?
Yes, I had forgotten about that because of what followed. I wasn't sure wtf had happened and if the ball had not entered play or had come off a Liverpool head. I think it may have been more like 20 yards. Should have been either retaken from the original spot or given as a Liverpool throw if it had entered play and drifted out on the wind. Its one of those areas that officials are really lax with.
Crikey, my late Evertonian uncle, who was still talking about Clive Thomas the week before he passed away, would be proud of some of you on here.
blatant handball that . i have no idea why the bitters think anything else Edit: Terry Mc's chip in the replay
the most frsutrating is they came out a little second half then reverted to type. 100% they walk out after listening to klopp etc and all discussing doing x and y but then they get out there and just don't do it. Second half they did it for max 10mins. MAX. once anchelotti did one thing trent stopped going forward. What I do not understnad is why is klopp not driving at last the side of the pitch he can talk to forward. He should have been whipping trent up and down that line like a flogged pony.
Look at our bench ffs. Look at City’s bench, or Chelsea or even the Mancs. All the answers are there. We have (had) an outstanding first 11 but very little behind it. It went extraordinarily well for a couple of seasons but as happens in life, this season has been horrendous. We did not build a strong enough squad in the good times and now, players know their place is safe regardless. City have been missing Aguero for most of the season, De Britney has been out as well. They are still coasting because of the quality in the squad. Big lesson to learn. Now our squad is two or three years older and injury has ravaged them, we are in a position of having to do a big rebuild to become competitive again
city fell apart and ended up 2nd last year. that says it all. We have utterly imploded. Yeahthere's a bit more quality but i don't agree that they have such an awesome 2nd 11 that notbody can complete. I think personally they have been stung and have the hunger this year to fight through. We have got a big fat cigar out and throught we could walk it, ZERO hunger. when things go wrong then they are all looking round at each other rather thanrunning their arses off to fix it.
ederson cancello stones Dias zinchenko Gundogan Rodri de bruyne Mahrez Aguero sterling steffan walker ake Garcia laporte mendy fernandinho foden b.silva torres Jesus that’s their 22 man squad. Second 11 have to go 5 at back as have extra defender rather than forward. you telling me that second 11 doesn’t stomp all over any one else’s second 11 and most first 11s from about 8th down? how many arsenal / spurs players get into that second 11? ours kelleher williams kabak Matip tsimikas Jones Thiago keita Jota origi Shaq now, there’s 4/5 of those that could argue are first team quality. Matip Jones Thiago Jota Keita. Given 5 of that second 11 been injured most of the season, not even including injuries from our first 11, how the hell do you think can compete?
Just a comparison steffan walker ake Garcia laporte mendy fernandinho foden b.silva torres Jesus kelleher Williams kabak Matip tsimikas jones Thiago keita jota origi shaq henderson Williams Bailey tuenzabe telles Matic fred Mata Donny james Greenwood Romero, Jones, Diallo not included kepa james Rudiger Christensen alonso Kovacic Havertz gilmour Ziyech Abraham hudson odoi not included Emerson, giroud
no it doesn't stomp all over many sides. It just doesn't, it will not beat most first 11s You've already outlined you couldn't get a full 11 in their perferred formation. Honestly they've a lot of decent players there no question but pepe will only turn to some of those to rely on. I mean you've bascially pisse dall over our squad players there. as for how many arsenal or spurs players get in that second 11. I hope you are not pissing all over thier first 11s. First off GK: lloris and leno v steffan?? Lb: teirney and reguilon v mendy??? no 6: holberg v fernandinho today? kane? aubameyang? son? etc etc etc city are not infallible and not all that amazing. They are consistent and hungry and driven.
That makes it sound like we sat on our laurels rather than spending money on the squad. It was a conscious decision to spend more on key positions/people rather than more quantity for less quality. Was it the right choice? Well, we won every major trophy possible, and more than what we won under the alternative strategy with Rafa. We brought in Jota (and Minamino) to shake up the front three, and it worked to an extent until he got injured. We brought in Thiago to expand the midfield, but he was then injured and by the time he came back, our midfield was depleted. We brought in Tsimikas as LB cover, which everyone was crying out for. When everyone's back and fit, our squad is better than it was. Obviously CB still needs strengthening, and several players will need replacing in 2-3 years. Problem being, I don't really see any major purchases without selling for the next year or so.
in terms of not getting a whole second 11, shove a youth kid in at left wing then. Point is how many times do you have to change you’re entire first 11? 8 of that city 11 would easily sit in their first team and not look out of place. If city have 5 players out injured or need to rest, the quality tocome in isn’t a drop off which is the point. Hell some people would put Laporte mendy/Walker foden into city’s first 11. We obviously disagree but that city second 11 wins enough games to finish top 4 this season, probably top 6 most years. so out of the whole spurs and arsenal squads you’ve managed to find 5 players that would be better in that second 11? That’s city’s second 11 remember... that’s how good their squad is that half of them are better than most of the first 11 of spurs and arsenal. Anyone suggesting city’s squad isn’t far superior to anyone else in the league is just talking nonsense and in a season where you play every 3 days with no real pre season and being able to rotate players in and out without a significant drop in quality is going to give you a huge advantage.
Look it is fair to say 5 to 8 of those could sit into their first team absolutely. No issue. I gave up after 5 easy examples with spurs and arsenal as imo the point was proven emphatically at that point. The core point is still what you said, how many times do you need to change them. Only 11 can play and 3 come on so a lot of teams can play city and give them a game. In general we could do the same if not for so many issues, some self inflicted. Imo still city are hungry after a disaster last year. Thsts the reason why we are falling apart imo. Weve given up.
