The latest i saw this last week estimated at current rates it will take several years to vaccinate the whole world, you seriously suggesting we wait several years before hosting a major sporting event just because other countries have being slower off the mark, less organized or cannot afford it (the UK can't afford it either and we will be in debt for years ), to me that is utterly absurd.
Lets see how many people get vaccinated first, how that effects transmission and how many people get sick. Then we can assess how to hold our national sporting events, open pubs, clubs, cinemas, music etc. International events can wait.
We refuse to stop hunger & malaria in the 3rd world - I’m not sure giving Africa or Asia a Covid vaccine should be high on their or our priorities. would Covid even get into the top 10 global killers?? Edit -data is out of date, but Covid would get in the top 10 with 2.5mill deaths
Not really That article was from middle of last year and doesn’t, as far I can see, mention the difference between cases in care homes etc and the general population ?
Isn’t it odd that the original National Registration number is still used to identify your right to the vaccine. We might not have an ID card but we still have a National Identification Number.
The is the thread about lockdowns and today will hopefully be the day when we see some light at the end of the tunnel. To keep it on track, I've removed all the stuff about Brexit and illegal immigrants, along with the pointless abuse. Try and keep it civil folks.
Some posts removed but the replies to them left. Of course if the originals don't meet with approval of certain people but the replies fit the narrative that is OK.
I've removed them all as far as I could see, if I've missed any, just let me know which and I'll delete them as well, there is no narrative ffs.
BREAKING: The rollout of the Pfizer and Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines were shown to reduce the risk of hospitalisation from #coronavirus in Scotland by up to 85% and 94%, according to a study.
Sadly, there'll be little or no appreciation from the current First Minister as to the efforts of her English colleagues in providing Scotland with sufficient doses!!! She's more interested in flying the European Union flag and talking about indyref2.....she's also worrying about her job once Salmond has spilled the beans on this next of vipers!! Whereas in reality, this has been a monumental effort in rolling out vaccines that could see us all coming out of the misery we have suffered for almost a year. These results seem to have prompted statements such as 'spectacular, impressive and very, very good news!!!
If you're referring to my post,I'm touching on the SNP,which could hardly be likened to Politics in any sense of the word.
