Tv enjoyment, I am split on Southfield Harvest and Silent Assassin in the first tv race. CDO is a surely a cert today. Greanateen to follow up for Nichols. Mister Coffey & Fifty ball.
Morning all last week I put up Polish 1.50 N runs over 3miles and has Paddy Brennan on board and at 14/1 I’m on again. also • 1.30 MR Against all odds • 2.25 N Lost in translation • 3.35 N Mister Coffey • 3.50 MR Path to freedom • 4.45 MR Eclair des Sabloas good luck to all
Dart has landed on ANNUAL INVICTUS in the Betfair today. I really like Chris Gordon and think he is still very underrated. This horse is improving with each run and may well have been let in cheaply by the handicapper in what for me looks a pretty ordinary renewal.
Oh dear Reebs, I have backed both Sizeable Sam and Mick Maestro as well today, let’s hope it’s a good sign. Best wishes for tomorrow mate, I cannot begin to imagine what you are going through but thoughts will be with you mate.
Cannot see a potential top level hurdler in the Betfair, so have opted for Fifty Ball, seems to have been targeted for this and Goshens improvement yesterday must be a plus. Also, backing Milkwood, unlucky last time out. 1:50 Sizeable Sam - Only lost once over hurdles and beat Cadzand in a bumper
Interestingly I got a text from the Hendo stable this morning "Fifty Ball" and they have Mister Coffey in it which plenty fancy.
A day is a long time in racing and I do think we are overlooking the obvious in the Betfair and Buzz is the horse for the race. He’s top weight but he could just be a better horse than this field and with a good lad on top I think he’s the one. I’ve also backed the Pipe horse in the race, a Fred Winter 2nd but available at 22s for 7 places? One bad run and he’s been forgotten. I’m hoping to get 7.2 on Champ, if I do then he’s a bet, if not he isn’t. Purely on prices that would be too big, even though I don’t like him dropping to this trip, it’s a weak renewal and he’s the interesting one. I’ve backed Global Fame and Stoners Choice and had a small ew on Polish and Present Value in the staying handicap hurdle.
Just got back from my bike ride with my son Rudey - a flat 38km loop to the south of Berlin. Lovely spring weather too
Always the same, one NR, now only seven horses. On the other hand, with six places, and although as I wrote last night I already have Fifty Ball 14/1 e/w, I can't resist Gumball 50/1 e/w. Small bet. Navan 16.35 Doldido 11/1 e/w (five places)
For Pleasure in the Betfair Hurdle e/w at 33/1 - will go off like a rocket and no one will take him seriously but he showed last time out how dangerous that can be. Also at Newbury Sizeable Sam (go on big boy ), Lostintranslation and my old fav Sceau Royal now the ground has come a bit quicker.
If you are interested Pilgrim you can back Darasso at 8/1 3 places or even 6/1 4 places (1/4 odds too) on each way extra with Bet365. With only 7 runners it's even more appealing..
Little EW Lucky 15 at Newbury to drown my sorrows after the football yesterday. (Law of averages said they had to win one sometime). 1.50 Polish (Sorry Daddy Pig) 2.25 The Conditional 3.00 Fanion D’estruval 3.35 Annual Invictus (Sorry Stick) Have a nice Sunday fellas, good luck with yours
Unbelievable ride by Hugh Morgan aboard Young Dev there. Stirrup broke and rode the race like John Wayne all the way around and remarkebly won it. I'd say 99.9% of jockeys would have pulled up but he persevered and somehow won. Check it out if you didn't see it.
