Another tough game tonight, Burnley at Turf Moor, ko 6pm and live on Sky.
No new injuries, so unless one or two have fatigue I expect an unchanged starting 11.
Hopefully we will pick up from where we left off at Goodison Park, but Burnley are harder working, and I think harder to close down.
3 pts here would be massive in our relegation fight, can Maja and co find the net?, here's hoping..........

One thing to be sure of is that Burnley will not roll over like Everton did. I think they score at least once, so we need to make the most of our chances.

I hope that Maja is fit enough to start again. With Mitro out for a few weeks a lot of pressure falls on Maja and I hope we can keep him fit.

We ground out a decent draw against a difficult Burnley side.
Burnley stopped much of our passing game with hard and physical work to their credit, and significantly Dyche was content with the draw.
I though RLC had an ineffective game and thought he would have come off instead of Lemina.
Still 4pts from 6 cannot be bad news, and onto the next game against Sheff U on Saturday, it's relentless............

A draw was a fair result on the balance of play I thought. I was hoping for more but that was perhaps more in hope. I agree on RLC, we need more from him. I don't understand what is wrong with him, sometimes he can have a good game but most he's just average or invisible, I just have this feeling he's going to come up with a crucial goal soon. Let's hope it is not too late.

Sheffield Utd will be tough, they put in 100%. Scoring first I suspect is absolutely key.

Irrespective of the opponent, every game is the next big event.
Sheffield Utd are at the Cottage today, ko 8pm and live on Sky.
There's no new injuries, Mitro is still recovering from covid, TC is now back in training, and Kongolo, well the least said the better.
With our shooting boots on and a good win today pressure will mount on Newcastle, they have Man U away on Sunday. But the pressure is on ourselves to get the win, something that has not negatively affected us to date, we continue with a free flowing game, when the opposition allows (not Burnley).
Resting RLC may be a step forward today, he has looked a yard off pace and his gathering of the ball is getting predictable and often loses possession.
I'm not seeing any other sweeping changes from our last two games, confidence is good, so lets get it done.........

We need some creativity in the middle, so far RLC hasn't stepped up to the mark in most games. I think Parker will stick with RLC as there's really only Onomaha in contention unless Angussia is pushed forward, but he may come in for Lemina.
    Need to take our chances.

It was much closer and nervier than it should have been, but a potentially crucial three points. RLC looked good in the first half, Harrison Reed ran a marathon again and Lookman provided the crucial spark. It's also bizarre at this point to be getting comfortable with our CBs, it's been many years since we could feel that way! All that said though I just don't understand why we back off teams like WBA & Sheff Utd in the second half; both teams offered absolutely nothing until we try to play defensively and then suddenly get chances.

The main talking point is likely to be the Areola tackle on Bogle - it could very easily have been a penalty that robbed us of 2 deserved points (much like Mitro's in the reverse fixture). That said, I felt the McGoldrick tackle was also a penalty (especially given Mitro's penalty) so there's some evening out there.

Good performance again tonight and great result. Still finding it hard to score goals but defensively we're looking good. Andersen such an important player for us. The momentum is with us.

What a great result, what a great week, 7pts from 9, and now closer to get out of the bottom 3.
There will be more bumps in the road yet, but we have a good vehicle for the ride.
Time for Zambo to do some shooting practice though!
Our games now become less frequent and energy can be recharged, and the training ground better used, so improvement should continue!
    Very happy..................

Been a massive week, I think Scott mentioned last night about the players having a day or two off to spend with family and chill out, well deserved I'd say.

I mentioned a few weeks ago that we needed things to start going our way, a bit of luck here or there and who knows what might happen, we may be getting it now. The Everton match Reeds shot comes off the post and lands at Maja for a tap in to kill the game, our goal against Burnley just hits off Aina and the Burnley player fails to clear it off the line, and last night some could say we got away with conceding a late penalty for the Areola challenge. A few weeks ago all of these things go against us, the Burnley player would easily clear that off the line, Sheff Utd get that pen. Things are changing for us, in a good way

I don't want to sound negative or like I'm criticising anyone, but out of interest has anyone else noticed how often Robinsons runs forward go unnoticed or ignored by those around him? Particularly Lookman, he seems to use Robinsons runs as a decoy to pull the defender away and then cut inside a lot. Can't really complain with what Lookman has brought to the team this season, he's a constant threat. I'd just like to see us use Robinson a lot more.

    Just an observation of mine.

Absolutely Fabio, if Lookman used him more often it would actually make his own runs have greater effect, and less predictable. He does need to pass more frequently, the odd one to Maja would also be useful. He had a good game, but he could make it better.
RLC played much better, faster on his feet and more varied in possession.
Andersen is immense, fantastic ass of Lookman's goal, even rolled the ball back for a Zambo shot, oh, and defended brilliantly too.
I have a feeling that when Mitro is back, we'll get more goals .................... I live and dream.

Another big game today! After playing 3 games in the space of a week it feels like ages since I last watched us play, so looking forward to it. I watched a bit of Palace play Brighton last week, and even though Palace won, I wasn't impressed with them at all. They are a totally different team without Zaha, they do have other good players but he is obviously the talisman.

Some decent results for us yesterday, Brighton lost and Newcastle drew so another chance for us to close the gap. This game could be even more important when you look at our next 3 games of Spurs, Liverpool and Man City. If we can win today and close the gap to 1 point, the others above us might just start to crack under the pressure. I don't think many were expecting us to put this run together, and some teams may have been starting to feel safe, we could drag a few more into this relegation fight.

Next up is Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, ko 12am, and it's live on BBC1.
No new injuries and Mitro comes back from covid, so may see him on the bench.
We know Roy will have his defence organized, so we will need to prize them open to get a goal or 2. This will be tough for sure. Hopefully we will be closer to the pack come 2pm.

Tough to breakdown that Palace defence today. Not the best game but performance was still good though still need to improve on our shooting. Not expecting too many points ion our next three games but we could do better against a team that does have so many players defending.

We were by far the better team, especially the 2nd half. We are still creating chances and were pretty close to getting a goal or two and that is a very good sign and keeping consistent. It was very noticeable that Palace were running down the clock with the purpose of not losing, this says a lot.
Defensively we were very good, very good indeed. Andersen is showing immense class and has become a great captain, defending without fault and now getting into forward positions and mixing things up, truly remarkable for a loan player (do we have an option to buy???). The test against Son, Kane and Gale will be telling on Thursday.
We didn't make or lose ground on Newcastle, but gained against Brighton and Burnley, so we continue on the road to survival, chins up guys and gals.

The journey to survival continues with Spurs at the Cottage, 6pm ko and live on BT Sport.
Again no new injuries, this speaks volumes of our medical staff and training practices, many clubs are suffering with this.
All being well our defence will continue their great work and stifle much of the Spurs attack. We need to find a goal or two, a little good fortune would not go amiss, getting the monkey off our back regarding London derby's.
I doubt we will change the players too much, we could possibly go for 5 at the back, at least 1st half.
We have little to fear, confidence is high, lets get it done.....

A very tough result to take following a very good performance, lady luck was not on our side.
Foiled by the latest handball laws, it beggars belief how or why this good for the game we all love.
We made some good chances but once more couldn't covert, frustrating for us and the players.
Very soon we will thrash someone as the coin of fortune lands our way, then we will be in a good place and get what we have for so long deserved.
11 games yet to play, but time is shortening.........

Reports coming in : The International Football Association Board has announced the handball law will be changed from July 1 - Under revised law, Fulham would have been awarded an equaliser against Tottenham.
