At least we got one more shot on goal which proves how we are truly terrible and we are also in deep muck. The bad decisions on behalf of SL over too many seasons has finally come back to bite him. I wonder if anyone has told him that to create a good competitive team you need a good manager who knows how to coach and a squad of good committed players.

P.S. We have neither, so get your finger out Steve and sack Ashton now and allow yourself to find the person that at least could have a shot at giving us all the dreams that we want.

One day you'll all realise the poor squad left by Ashton and Johnson.
Move your deckchairs as much as you want but ........

SL said 'we paid enough for this squad, we should be doing better'.
    He'll catch up eventually.

ps - Thought he looked 'old' and not in the best of health. The strain is showing.

This is the culmination of 3 years of poor signings, poor tactics, poor coaching, poor team selections, fielding gutless midfielders who get bullied by every midfield they come up against.

Simpson's post match interview was incredibly enlightening, apparently he discussed the lack of midfield physicality with Holden upon his arrival at BCFC.

His statement about Williams just beggars all belief, I posted this on the the thread I started about Williams. Basically Williams has posted about his injury and that scans have uncovered the root of the problem, there has been nothing on BCFC site and although aware of Williams tweet, Simpson could not confirm or deny the information. That implies to me Williams has had the scans done independently of the club. The only other reason I can offer for the club not saying anything is it will once more show the rehab team in a very poor light.

If true the club is absolutely falling to pieces, it's a joke.

There are obviously massive failings at the club but over recent weeks, significantly, it appears that individuals also are not stepping up.
That is something I will never understand as it can never look good on their CV!
Many of us have played amateur football at varying levels and we would never have put up with a “team member” not putting in 100%.
It’s at times like these you realise how the likes of Joey Barton and Vinnie Jones got as far as they did! Neither were that gifted football wise, but at least they gave everything and were prepared to have a pop at anyone in the side that didn’t!! At the moment, I’d love to have someone who had 10% of their balls playing for us.
To be fair, I think that even now, either of them could do a better job than many who turn out for Bristol City!

You are obsessed about the last 3 years of LJ and his failings.. I understand that the football wasn’t always great. But the level we’re now at IMO is the lowest since SC left.
I remember reading from those that thought they knew better when GJ left.. But predicting that this club with its ability to recruit dross would go one way.. and that was south!!
We seem to be going the same way..
SL doesn’t have time to mess about, needs to act now, otherwise so long as the gas doesn’t go the same way, the only thing we will have to look forward to is a local derby..

I haven't mentioned LJ or his failings, just stating a fact we were flying high and never consolidated that with bringing in quality for a final push, we brought in Walsh (one for the future) Kent (another for the future but not our future) and the wonderful Diony and the inevitable happened and from that moment on with the odd exception our incomings have been awful and that showed up not only our lack of ambition but our abject lack of talent spotting and we are now paying the price big style.

The good news is Simpson given his post match interview can probably see the writing on the wall, that he and Downing are likely soon to be surplus to requirements and he is calling it as he sees it, criticising what has gone before, especially surrounding lack of physicality and the need for SL to act quickly and it's about time somebody called it as it was and not giving us the company line.
