    I didnt say he wasnt.

I said Quinn has been a greater influence and statesman for the club for a longer period of time and is therefore a bigger legend to the fans than Phillips will ever be.

That is a massive statement and certainly does not apply to me as a fan

I love it when there's a buzz and someone like Alex Rae or McCoist are spotted in with the supporters.

I was at the SJP derby with Craig Gardner and even spotted Wayne Entwistle in Trafalgar Square on the night before Wembley.

Quinny went on to fund a childrens hospital ward with his testimonial fund, and became our ( temporary) manager and Chairman of SAFC. No contest .

That's fair enough, you have your opinion and I have mine. For me Quinny epitomised the club at a time of great success and didn't go on to bigger and better once the wheels fell off. Then he came in with the magic carpet, I'll never forget those days! On the pitch Phillips runs him close in the legend status, both brought great times to the club and the fans. Off the pitch its no contest Quinn is in a different league.

No lasting affinity with the club or not invited? Don't know if they were ever anything other than work colleagues to be honest.

Can’t stop a director of the club being at the match if they want but KLD really needs to distance himself from Donald and co. It needs to be a clean start otherwise it will reek of same old same old.

good few pages over the road about this. It doesn’t matter how many games Donald and Charlie attend they still don’t have a controlling interest in the club. So we fixate on the negatives or run with the positives is the question

The night we were at Bury in the League Cup and lost (Quinny was caretaker manager) was the night Phillips chose West Brom over us. After the game was when Quinn alluded to a 'world class' manager coming in and that weekend Phillips played against us with Keane in the stands.

Whether or not Phillips new Keane was coming in (and with the relationship between Quinn & Phillips I'd be gobsmacked if Quinn hadn't told him) but either way, that was the time he could have come in. Whether Quinn felt let down by his old mate or not I don't know but I don't think he'll have brought him back after that.

Always will be Quinn for me, coming back as chairman, getting Ellis Short in (no matter what people thought in the end it was a positive at the time), the taxi fares for the fans, picking us up and getting Drumaville to back us, bringing Keane in to give us our best years for a while. No brainer for me, Phillips did great as a player then went when relegated and nothing since.

He had the chance and has subsequently came out with three excuses since, all of which could be true. Went to WBA from Villa as they represented a better chance of a return to the Premiership, he also stated he had just moved house in Midlands and the kids were settled in the area and school, also stated that he felt you should never go back as he didn't think it would anything like the first time. Take ya pick, all plausible I suppose.
