I have heard the same (I put it the top 6 fans choice thread)

Being reported on a site called EFL hub (don't know if this is a reliable source)

If it happens, I have said I will not renew my season ticket, I will pick and choose games and I suspect that I will not be alone.

If true with all the bad feeling about Ashton, my belief is that this would be a deliberate act and more evidence of the disdain the fans are held in by our club.

Only nodding dogs need apply. If indeed that is the mandate from SL and MA then people will speak with their money and not renew. Expecting anything other than wrong decisions from Bristol City will get us nowhere, but then again that should sound familiar.

Perhaps the top brass might be shocked when good managers tell us "no thanks" and we end up with the bargain basement cast offs.

I don't want Appleton at all either, but then again I didn't realise how well he's currently doing with Lincoln. That has softened it slightly for me, the fact that he's doing well with a club that you wouldn't expect to be at that level.

The problem is though, it doesn't really matter how well Appleton is doing right now. His appointment would simply confirm that being a yes man and a pal of Ashton's is the most important thing when recruiting a Bristol City manager, which is infuriating.

Most managers who are doing well at the moment, will be viewed for most new managers vacancies, that doesn't always equate to a pedigree a) in getting teams promoted from the championship to the prem or b) more importantly experience as a manager in the championship. I mean I suspect that Tisdale is not on our radar, even though a few on here thought he should have our manager when the gas employed him.

We cannot keep scrabbling around in the lower leagues in the hope that one day we will get it right.

Looking at Appleton's championship experience:- 2012 Blackpool he lasted 11 games and is the shortest serving Blackpool manager in their history at 65 days, with a win ratio of 16.7%, he resigned and somehow got the Blackburn job where he managed to survive 2 days longer at 67 days before being sacked with a 26.7% win ratio.

I am struggling to see how in any universe that championship record in anyway fits SL's/Ashton's own criteria of an experienced steady hand?

I have to repeat the bullshit coming out of our club is just beyond belief.
