Morning 7.30 Chelmsford-Elusif Each Way @ 13-2 [William Hill] More than capable of winning in this class
13:30 Leicester - this breac 16/1 Won this race last year off 3lb higher. Same heavy ground. Blue on oddschecker. Had a small bet on it.
Thats a great shout hawkeye. Without wishing to dampen the congratulations it does rather smack of very blatant cheating on the part of the Frosts when the horse has gone PPP to get its mark down to where they wanted for this race. I know of trainers who wouldnt have been allowed to get away with it, I wonder if there is even a stewards report.....
Race 3 - 1:30pm THE BOSCASPORTS RACING'S DIGITAL DISPLAY HANDICAP STEEPLE CHASE (CLASS 5) Permission was given for THIS BREAC (IRE) to be led in at the start. The winner, THIS BREAC (IRE), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous three runs, having pulled up in each of them. Jimmy Frost explained that the gelding had been outclassed in its earlier runs and was better suited by a weaker race today. His comments were noted and THIS BREAC (IRE) was routine tested.
Surprised that was accepted. Last year when he won the race it was a class 4 worth 5k. This year it was a class 5 worth 3k. His last 2 runs when PU were Class 5 races
The tell-tale sign in all this Ron is that the jockey has popped her head into the stewards room, voluntarily, to give an explanation for a very poor performance on each of its last two starts. I think that is what is commonly known as getting all your ducks in a row!
It does wreak, they obviously punted it and made a right few bob off it no doubt. I have to say, although I don't entirely agree with it, I prefer that it happens to be this way, in that the horse was supported and so the general public could see what was going on too and get a slice of the pie for themselves, rather than the laying that blatantly happens on some horses, where you are given no hope if you've backed it and are entirely in the dark.
