Yesterday was the first time I'd seen a steely eyed determination in the team.

There was no one passing the buck as has been the case for some time.

Even Gooch, who couldn't get into the game, kept running and chasing down.

I was surprised just how much they all celebrated the win.

I dont really mind some numpty telling us we've been outplayed, just ask the Lincoln Manager if his team is looking forward to going to Wembley, enough said I think.

We had more possession, more corners, the shots on target were 7 to 3 in our favour ...

... and we scored more penalties <laugh>

If we keep being outplayed like this we'll be promoted.

You could see why they are top of the league, but you could also see why we are not far behind, both teams were playing with key players missing and one eye on the league, if their shooting had matched their build up play we might have seen a different result, but it didn't Wykes goal was magnificent, an outstanding finish and our penalty shoot out was a masterclass, and needed to be, I was impressed with their build up play, but they don't have a McGeady / Wyke combo, on that showing. Nuff said. OaU

Never for a second did heads drop, there’s definitely a shift happening.

We aren’t there yet, we lost to Shrewsbury a week ago, but there just seems a bit more bark and confidence for me, I’m not sucking LJ off just yet cos he’s not nailing it, but his clear delight last night at the whistle was quite infectious.

Maybe, just maybe, we are slowly starting to get it together again.

I liked that we still tried to play football, and didn't resort to just lumping aimless balls into the box, hoping for the best.

from the commentary, i would say it was a fairly even, uneventful type game until they scored...we then seemed to 'wake up' and kick on and i honestly do not think there would have been any complaints if we had scored 3 or 4, as it was it ended all square and we needed to keep our heads for the shoot out.

lincoln are a good team but i do think both teams were feeling a bit 'leggy' and stretched leading to a bit of a below par performance.

The first hour would best be described as routine ...

... two decent teams playing well but very obviously avoiding injury.
