Why the best season since Alan Dicks? We won promotion from the 3rd tier under John Ward since then, and a few Freight Rover trophy's, GJ also got us promoted from the 3rd tier, and almost back to back promotions, and reached a Championship play-off final?

I onefer made the comment about LJ gone 7 months and we are still talking about him and I replied that is down to 4 posters.

    Onefer, RP, Wiz and you.

For the very last time I was underwhelmed by his appointment but I supported him and from the start of the 2017/2018 season he won me over and then January 2018 came along and bit by bit with a little respite here and there he wore me down.

Some people are obsessed with him.

    Just my opinion Supcon.
Freight Rovers didn't mean that much to me and I enjoyed the promotion under John Ward. Especially the 1-1 at Watford amongst 6,000 City fans.
I suppose it was the style we played, always on the front foot made more impressive for me while the ground was being redeveloped.

2008 was a fantastic season but we had the chance in the January window, we were 1st or 2nd, and we bottled it ending up missing automatic which was so frustrating.
The 1st semi at Palace was one of the best away performances I've ever seen, only bettered at Arsenal and Liverpool, oh and who'll ever forget Coventry.
Trouble was the hugely disappointing P/O Final, first Boom Boom being ill and then Bradley getting injured.
You have to forgive me but Orr's substitution was probably the worst decision GJ ever made, moving Marvin to RB and bringing on you know who.
Game was over and has coloured my thinking of that season ever since.

I sort of agree, although for me the first one v Bolton was awesome mainly because of 1982 and all of that.

Just remembered another fantastic away win. Mansfield 4-2 up with 2 minutes to go and we won 5-4. Unbelievable.

It came to me as Mansfield were 2 up against Bolton tonight with 10minutes to go and lost 3-2.
    Groundhog day for Mansfield.

To be honest I dont have an inclination for any of them, to be fair I could not put a name forward either. Maybe we should go foreign for a change?

The latest result to come in during the history of football. It was put up as a final result at around 17.10 if my memory serves ? Didn't Christian Roberts get the winner ?

A site called EFL hub (don't know if it's reliable) are reporting that we have asked permission to speak to Appleton.

If he gets the job I will not renew my season ticket, I will pick and choose games.

I suspect I will not be alone.

If they employ Appleton with all the bad feeling about Ashton, my belief is they are doing it on purpose and they do not give a **** about the fans or what the fans think.

I despair of the club - I really do.
Unproven at Championship level - sound familiar? Even LJ had actually managed in the second tier.
Jiffie; I was already at the 'pick and choose' stage, but out of circumstance not out of protest. I'll be picking and choosing more carefully - but I'll also be spending more time in Gibraltar, so that would have happened anyway.

I'm trying very hard to find some straws to cling to - maybe Ashton would find it easier to listen to Appleton when his mate goes asking for players?

Sometimes being a city fan feels like a curse, doomed to a lifetime of footballing disappointment, misery, underachievement and frustration.

    R&W
    'Curse'
It's the same word my son uses and he blames me for it. At school he was the only one in a City shirt, all other kids had Man Utd and Newcastle (Keegan was manger) shirts.
Now he doesn't go to AG and forbids me taking my grandchildren - he doesn't want to put them through what he's had for 40 years.
I haven't watched City at AG for 4 years, you know why, and can't think why I'll bother again.

But unfortunately, no matter how many fans give the club a wide berth and don't have season tickets, the club won't give a toss and that about sums the whole operation up for me, and I suspect many many others.

Maybe this is all a cunning plan to marginalise the football club. The worse things get the more fans stay away, making BCFC unviable as a business - then SL could wind the club up as a lost cause and save an absolute fortune?

    Steady does it 1For.

We both know why I haven't been to AG for 4 years or so.
Also I no longer have the oomph to leave 3 hours before k/o and get home at least an hour after final the whistle.
The new regime has just worn me down from the time Ashton employed the first cheap option and then the second cheap option.
It showed our ambition 4 years ago and will probably show our ambition again now.
