  2. I've just developed a bit more respect for Shola reading that. At least he's being modest <ok>

For some reason, even though he pisses me off a lot, there's always a part of me that will always love Shola <3

Just finished reading the article...I've just upped my rating of Shola as a person..
But he's definitely getting very near his sell-by date.

Shola is too much a part of Newcastle to let him go. I'd be gutted seeing him playing badly for another club, I really would! I hope he takes on a coaching role soon (or is doing his badges at the very least). Can you imagine a staff of Shola, Nobby, Stevey Harper and someone like Lee Clarke as manager - awesome!

"One time, on Stanhope Street, I turned a corner and seven or eight lads just started chasing me. I must have been running for 20 minutes trying to lose them."

Shola's a great lad <ok>. In every way except for footballing ability he is a Newcastle legend.

This, we all complain how ****e Shola is, and yea hes lazy but i would never want him to leave Newcastle for some reason, maybe its because of his dedication to the club?

I would rather have him serving drinks to the lads on the sideline than him playing for another club. Also hes been there a few times when we've needed him, every now and then he steps up to the table to help Newcastle.

Still **** at football though ;)

Great article, thanks for bringing it to my attention. I really hope Sammy turns into the player he is capable of being. As for Shola, if he continues to have a positive influence around the place, I don't mind him being around. Every club has a few wise heads and you need a few in that dressing room.

The more I hear from him, the more grounded Shola sounds which is rare in footballers. Now before you say 'he's modest because he's got nothing to boast about', this is a man who has scored against Barcelona in Europe, has been on the fringes of the England setup, has made over 300 appearances for a top-flight club, has played alongside some top quality players and picks up a very healthy pay packet.

There are many players with much lower-profile careers who walk around like they own the place, flash cash and generally look down on others. I think Shola is an absolute model professional and clearly took on board the teachings of Sir Bobby. Sammy certainly has a great role model to look up to in Shola and many others could learn from his attitude (or lack of).

He is the polar opposite of Michael Owen and I think he will always be a welcome part of NUFC. <ok>

Well, that's finally pushed me into it. I'm officially going to change my last name by deed poll to Ameobi. I suggest you all join me. Come the revolution, when PM Foluwashola Ameobi takes office, we'll all need to be on the same side to make it through. No Mackem will survive.

It had crossed my mind to actually change my username but I figured it might not be the best change ever.

overseasAMEOBI doesn't have the same ring to it either does it?
