Reports are that we might try and make a cut price bid for him in January.
Wenger enquired about him two or three seasons ago, but Chelsea weren't interested.
Often used as a sub at Chelsea, he's cited as not having a good goal return, but his goal to appearance ratio is not too bad - 35 goals in 89 apps, that's just under 1 goal every 2 games.
Still only 26, he's got 5-6 good seasons in him still.
If we were to go for him, I'd expect to pay no more than £5m - £7m

    Thoughts?

He's been a player Wenger has apparently been interested in for a while. There's been rumours about it for the last few seasons. He's a decent age, isn't used much at Chelsea really for his age.

He's a good age for Arsenal too - young enough to be worth the money, old enough to be plenty experienced.

    Sounds likley.

    Waiste of money!

Y'ann M'Villa, Gourcuff, Eden Hazard, Mario Goetze .. thats the calibre of player we need to be adding.

What use would we have for Kalou when we have Gervinho and Walcott?
    (he's hardly a goalscorer)

It's a completely pointless signing ... so it will probably happen.

He is a similar player to Gervinho and Walcott.
It could work if Wenger is planning on deploying Walcott in his preferred striker role.
Also, I'm not sure how much more Arshavin is going to offer us - he's already 30 and as skillful as he is, he is a lazy ****.
If a rich Russian team come in for him, Wenger might be tempted to sell.
At this point in time, I'd rather have Kalou playing in Arshavin's position.

    Sell Arshavin, and buy Kalou?

Probably work out as a straight swap in terms of money - Arshavin will fetch a few million.

Still, the only way I think he's required is if Theo is moving central. Oxo, Miyaichi, Gervinho & Theo are presently wingers, without counting Arshavin. Sell Arshavin & bring in Kalou and you've still got a bit of a glut. Move Theo central and the squad is more balanced.

I just wana see more of Miyaichi!! Got high hopes for that lad.

He is awful, absolutely awful, no touch, no technique, no clue, he is stealing a living !!!

    I'd rather have Chamakh and Bendtner as our frontline than Kalou anywhere near the squad.;

Another second rate player is all we need, we have enough overrated players as it is.
If he goes and signs this mug then we are well and truly setting the bar of our ambitions lower with each passing year.

Great. Another frustrating, small and weak player.
Chelsea must be laughing, we're eagerly taking their naff players. Soon we'll have Hilario and Paulo Ferreira.

And I shall be setting up a catapult to launch Custard pies into the stadium, I will bombard the dugout and exectutive board boxes into submission, forcing them to sign some top players.

These pies will be funded by the AST, by the season end we will have enough pies to get our point across, I can see it on Sky HD and 3D.

(Solomon Kalou has just come on as sub) wow! look at this pie hitting Ivan Gazdis right in the kisser, perfectly executed - Wenger has just gone back into the dugout..

Don't you think the pies are far too expensive to throw around ?

We have to make a stand! I am going to be purchasing top quality pies unlike our board, there will be no bargain hunting in Lidl or Aldi at the last minute.

I shall have these quality pie's stockpiled and ready for the job. :bandit:

Actually he is not a bad player as some are saying, maybe the Chelsea system doesn't suit him. As for us, we really should get rid of a few players before bringing him in.

Talking serious guys, Walcott and RVP haven't signed new contracts and maybe Wenger wants to bring Kalou in to replace one of these two? In my opinion, if he buys Kalou, Walcott might likely walk as he's won't get the central striker role.

I will be equipped with a selection. The type used will depend on the weather conditions on day, I will of course be doing trajectory and distance calculations and factoring these alongside the pie types. Size, weight and possible aerodynamic factors such as drag will of course be part of the calculations. Given the velocity formula y = vt - gt2/2, with the integration results in: y = v2/2g

I am confident given the foreseeable resources of being able to source these pies and given the right conditions not having to resort having them custom made, the danger of having them custard ;) made is that it could drag on and result in endless delays and transition periods where the pies are being refined for years on end without ever being good enough to actually complete the mission.

The last thing I want is for the mission to be locked in a transition cycle without producing said results. :bandit:

Not convinced raiding Chelsea for their 4th/5th choice forwards is going to take us forward.....

I've never seen him have a good game for Chelsea or Ivory coast (is it Ivory Coast ?)

The ball always seems to ricochet off his knee or something, he has as bad a first touch as Bendtner and he seems to always fluff easy chances. I don't like his face either.
