It's #progress ! I know what you're saying about margins but, should we really have been in that position in either match? Desperately defending a lead in one, desperately trying to find a winner against a relegation certainty in the other. The answer is, no.
West Ham are where they are on merit. They've been pretty damn good this season. Being 4 points above them isn't really the barometer of our success or failure. That'll definitely be how far off the top we are.
Haha. This made me chuckle. He WAS indeed our manager. And we sacked him with less than a full season. Did we sack him prematurely without giving him a decent chance to prove himself ?
I think he was just overawed by the job, crushed by the sheer weight of expectation of being the manager of such a high-profile club.
Yes. He was like a rabbit caught in the headlights. Totally overawed and unprepared for the pressure that’s associated with United. One of his crucial mistakes was to immediately sack the coaching team and replace it with his own including Phil Neville. That removed the only continuity of the champions with the old system. Suddenly the players had to start from scratch. He had a 6 year contract FFS therefore he didn’t need to act so fast. It wasn’t like the usual manager change where the club was underperforming. He could have let the old regime carry on and change things gradually. I am sure if he got the job tomorrow he’ll take his time. And as crucial our previously reliable recruitment process went to pots.
It was only really reliable in recruiting Ferguson, 26 years previously. Pre Fergie it was haphazard as it is now. They definitely sacked Moyes too soon, without giving any thought to his successor. They should have let him stay till the end of the season while looking for a new manager properly, then sacked him. Instead, they gave it Giggs, sat back while they gave him a 'chance', then employed van Gaal because he happened to be unemployed, missing out on recruiting the likes of Pep, Ancelotti and Klopp while they were at it. ****ing idiots. Still are, and still doing the same thing manager after manager. A decent board would have been checking out potential future managers long in advance of getting rid of the current one. This is exactly what should be happening right now, just in case like.
Moyes was sacked for his simpering submissive comments about Man City and Liverpool as he was for his coaching ineptitude. He needed to understand he was no longer manager at Everton and therefore not to be subservient to Liverpool. As for saying we aspired to be like Man City, that was his final nail in the coffin. That's what got him sacked, stupid twat. No United supporter would accept that rhetoric.
