Good Morning. It's Tuesday 16th February, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Hernandez social media comments spell the end for the Spaniard

The turbulent relationship between Marcelo Bielsa and Pablo Hernandez may be have become irreversible after the 35yo talisman took to Instagram to pour his heart out following the Arsenal defeat

The Spaniard was dismayed having been left on the bench, only for far less influential players to go on in his place.

Taking to social media, Hernandez used a quote from Bielsa, from his time at Marseille, recounting it almost word for word:-

"Although it was impossible for you, never claim anything in life, swallow the poison of hatred and accept injustices, rest assured that everything is balanced in the end."

Does this spell the end for Pablo Hernandez?

    Has Bielsa treated him well?

After what Hernandez has done for our club, can anyone blame him for being upset with having to accept such a small role this season?

What kind of impact will this have in the ER dressing room?

Is anyone getting fed up with Bielsa trying to place square pegs in round holes?

Chappers - Bamford not aggressive enough

Leeds legend Lee Chapman believes Patrick Bamford is 'too nice' and not aggressive enough to make it to the highest level in the Premiership.

Bamford, who has scored 12 goals and provided five assists in 23 Premier League games so far this season had a private School education which has made it difficult for the 27yo to be on the same level playing field as others. During a tough loan period at Burnley (2016/17) Bamford confronted Sean Dyche about his lack of game time. The fiery response from Dyche involved the words ‘born with a silver spoon in your mouth’. Also, until recently, one of the Leeds coaches truly believed that the centre forwards father was a Billionaire.

Chappers said “Bamford is very level-headed and nothing fazes him — but I’d like to see him lose his temper a few times! I want to see him get stuck in, hurt a few people, and be a bit more aggressive.

“Sometimes you can be too nice and if Bamford misses chances, he doesn’t seem too upset, so I think he needs to push himself a little bit harder. But he’s improving every year and I think he could be a useful back-up to Harry Kane.”

“The big problem I had with Bamford two seasons ago was that he didn’t score enough goals and got too involved in the build-up play.

“Now what I’ve noticed — and I was at Leeds’ game at Tottenham a few weeks ago — is that he’s staying in the box more and in positions where he can score goals.”

Can Bielsa push Leeds to the next level?

Since his arrival at Elland Road on the 15th June 2018, Marcelo Bielsa has become an icon among almost every Leeds supporter in the land. His no nonsense training regimes, comprehensive homework and direct style of play has won the 65yo many plaudits, not just from Leeds fans, but Soccer fans in general and pundits.

Whilst we can marvel at what the Argentine has achieved in almost three years, his trophy cabinet remains rather bare!

Can Bielsa produce trophies at Elland Road, or will his single minded tactics be Leeds downfall?

Do you expect him to be here in a year or two?

If not, who would you like to see take his place?

Morning Elland. It's a pity Pablo has reacted like this. I will always be grateful for his contribution in getting us promoted, but he is taking the shine off his achievements here with his comments. I'd sell him and let him see if he'll get more game play at another team, definitely in the lower Leagues. Time stands still for no one and he has to remember it's a team game and youth is the future and as hard as it is for me to say it, I think he's had his day. Chapman is right in a sense about Bamford, but I do think that silver spoon comments could almost amount to bullying. Can you imagine the uproar if Bamford had called someone a poor, uneducated pleb. One thing I'm sure is that Chapman would have scored a lot of those chance Bamford missed with his head.<ok>

I can understand both sides of Bielsa and Hernandez. Hernandez will leave at the end of the season. He has looked good when he has come off the bench. It's just frustration.

Chapman is correct. Strikers need to be aggressive. Bamford is a lot better than he was at it but he still needs to be a lot nastier. He is a big lad and should be smashing defenders in order to get on the end of crosses. It's just not in his nature.

As long as Bielsa wants to be here then I am happy for him to continue. The way he changed this club is as impressive as when Wilko did it, maybe better.

    Morning all,

Hernandez will always be a Leeds legend for his part these last two years. However, if this is what it appears to be then it is sad that he is choosing to end his time with us in such a way.

I know this has been debated on here a lot but what role should Pablo expected to have played this season? He is 35 years old and we have stepped up a level. We have also brought in younger players in his position, .He was always going to be a bit part player.

If this latest Insta post is due to not being used as a sub on Sunday when we were behind then he needs to look at those subs. Both Costa and Roberts had one of their best halves of football this season. Does Pablo think he would have done better? Huggins came on to replace Alioski at LB. Does Pablo think he would have been a better option at LB?

If after the subs had been made we continued to be rubbish and shipped another 4 goals Pablo may have a case to say he could have done better but as it was we played a lot better and won the 2nd half.

We are at a point where as much as we are grateful for the past we need to be looking forwards. Huggins, Roberts & potentially Costa could be part of that future. Let them have the Prem minutes to see if they can be. We can not be sentimental to a player who is most likely leaving at the end of the season or even close to retirement.

Bielsa has improved us year in year out since arriving. I see nothing to suggest that won't happen again especially with squad investment. Yes we know he gets some things wrong but he is learning as well in his first season in the Prem,

    Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

On Pablo I love the guy and you dont get to be Leeds most influential player for 20 years, and win the player of the season back to back as well as becoming a legend. But unfortunately I think we slipped up because we wanted to reward him for his services. We were too nice, like we have been with Berardi. In Pablo’s case we gave him a 2 year extension even though he was only a bit oart player last season. Bit part because he had injury problems and did a lot of bench sitting and r eally helped to close out the season. This year we have continual injuries again, he lost the plot and threw is black armband when substituted so spent weeks missing again. His will be the last straw and Im betting we wont see him again. He wanted to leave in January but Bielsa wanted to have him available as we are short of players, then his wife Ma Garcia on the day the window closed posted a photo of Castlle the place they wanted Pablo to play. Sometimes maybe the club should be more ruthless.

Chappers is another club legend but wouldn't even get into a Bielsa squad today, and sounding off about wanting a player to go and hurt another player is just silly. I will leave it there.

Could Bielsa win trophies? Well if you believe the crap pundits like Karen Carney, Agbonlahor, white and many more the answer is no because we run out of steam. The real answer is deffo yes and having a plan to do it is obviously now in play. Promotion- bring in some quality - stay in the Premier League - bring in more quality - get mid table in the Premier League - bring in more quality. So yes and the plan is working so far so lets see who we bring in and get rid of in the Summer. Bielsa has won league titles before, won cups before even the Copa De Libertadores which is South Americas Champions League as well as the Olympic Games. So please go do one you useless click bait crap journos and pundits. If he has the tools he wins

Think chappers was just meaning for bamford to put his self about a bit more, but even that is subjective in today's football because it is getting to the point of physical contact being slowly eroded with players rolling, diving, feigning at the slightest touch. The game when chappers was playing has gone, perhaps he was just whimsically thinking as to when he played and forgot you wouldn't really be able to "put yourself about" like he and the likes of big Dunc, Andy gray,Jordan and the like.
The game has moved on and whether you prefer today's brand or yearn for yesteryear is personal....chappers is right but if bamford did what he wants like he suggests in today's brand he wouldn't last to long:emoticon-0138-think

Spot on Oldschool. Chopper Harris ****ed up E. Gray in the cup and he wasn't the same again really. As an old lad I liked the times that you could make a tackle. But to see someone hold their head after getting a wack on the ankle, annoys the **** out of me.<grr>

Morning all. If anyone at Leeds doubts the genius of Marcelo Bielsa there are clubs all over the world who would welcome him. Be satisfied he chose Leeds.

I can't understand some of the comments regarding Bielsa. Personally I'd be worried who takes over after he leaves. I'm sure if we stay up that he'll stay one more year. I just hope that the club include Bielsa when looking for his replacement because I think it'll be one of the most important decisions the club will make in recent history.<ok>

Anyone else think Haaland is trolling us. Yesterday on social media he was chuffed that his 2 fav Cities were twinned. Leeds and Dortmund have been twinned for 50 years. I even remember when the fat bloke with the beer barrel was put on the Headrow

    Morning all

The Pablo situation is sad but I’ve got to say, he was always too hot and cold and missed too many games for me to put him in the legend bracket. I’d never even consider him when thinking who’d be in a Leeds legend.

Off topic slightly but if you were unhappy with your treatment from the NHS would you complain?

I have reason to be unhappy at the organisational skills of the private hospital my gp referred me to which I believe is extending my treatment time.

I have contacted them with my concerns but others have told me we shouldn't be complaining about the NHS at this time.

    Thoughts ?

We only have a National Covid Service these days Im sorry to say and I and many others are seeing treatments cancelled mate. This time last year treatments were being delayed for 1,623 patients, today its well over 200,000. The fallout from this will not be seen for a couple of years yet
