I was thinking about this - if we'd started the game like we came out second half, we'd have made a fist of it. They didn't like the press. But then the issue is, Bruce is watching a second half when the game is already lost. It was lost because the tactic did not suit Shelvey or Gayle yet they're picked anyway. It was lost because we had no intensity for 45 minutes. We'll never know what could've been, because we only 'fought' when Chelsea dropped to 2nd gear, so it's not a reflection. Bottom line is Bruce is a terrible manager. I've never known someone get it wrong so repeatedly, never learning from mistakes. He makes Carver look bright. We're in so much trouble with Bruce but that's the bet the owner's made and nothing's going to change.
He was grinning in the interview.. I find that a bit weird. I think it's perhaps just his way of trying to con the media into thinking everything's fine. He's going to lose his job if Fulham win the next 2
Owners are gamblers at heart and happy to go all or nothing, they've stuck 300 odd million down on Bruce and will keep going at it all night. See if he keeps us up or not, im done giving a **** tbh Changes were made second half and they worked, that's a good sign. I think if we show the intent we did against Saints, Everton and Palace we will be ok in the end.
It does appear that way, but I think Ashley will get rid if Fulham catch up in the next week or 2.. It might not happen, but it's crunch time imo
Yeah, course, same thing we did with McClaren. Long as we aren't IN the bottom 3 a new manager can dig us out of the mire. We can perform "ok" with an absolute imbecile, a slightly better manager will do a lot better. I think for example Pearson would see us safe. He's not gonna expect wages much higher than the current bloke.
Absolutey this. I mean; it’s a dead club. There’s nobody there, nobody cares, we’ve got the worst manager ever that nobody wanted bar the two brainless thundercunts running the ****show. I used to go on relentless rants about it, now I’m just a mildly interested bystander. Like you rightly say, it’s basically some rich bastard has put £300m on Newcastle to stay up and it’ll be kind of interesting to see what happens. But I won’t care. I’m so far from bothered. I used to even have a morbid fascination to see us fail, I don’t even have that anymore. Win, meh. Lose, meh. Stay up? Go down? Meh. None of it matters. This fabled takeover has nothing to do with staying up either. In fact, if I were an investor I’d be hoping for relegation, better return if I can pick up the club for £150m. I’m currently more interested in laughing at fat Mike blowing another few hundred million. That alone will make it worth it.
Newcastle boss Steve Bruce to BBC Sport: "We were excellent in the second half and in the first half we found it very difficult. The way they played, the system they had, the two inside forwards - we didn't deal with it well enough. "Second half we got to grips with it and we were more aggressive - a lot of positives. First half was very difficult for us." WTF why start playing after 45 minutes or the old ways of playing in the last 10 minutes
There's people about with brains who would love the job, its a pretty easy turn around in my opinion. Youd get a **** ton of plaudits. Hughton, Pardew, Carver and Rafa all got jobs instantly after leaving. Keep us up, if theres no take over you get a decent prem job for as many years as you like. I'd give it to Barton or Rooney personally. Rooney has worked a miracle at Derby.
Ashley just won't sell it he'll try and get us promoted rather than lose 150 mill and PIF don't want a, championship club as far as has been reported a relegation will end their interest.
Second half was better, but again, he started us wrong. A forum surfer knew the left would be a problem, it took the coach 45mins of play. Embarrassing
Bruce was smiling away on the post match, so I think he's on his way soon.. Looks like a man pretending he's loving his life at a party after his lass dumped him
I think you're being very optimistic mate Our roles have reversed, I was saying this a few weeks back. But he's safe til Ashley opens up BBC Sport and actually looks at the table, he usually does this after opening his emails and remembering he owns a football club.
